So many people think that our only problem is our ASD. But often the problem that bothers us more, which unfortunately is often the problem they won't help us with, is is how people treat us badly because of our ASD. And they often think that curing our ASD will cure their bad attitudes toward us, but really, they should be curing their bad attitudes toward us... toward people who are different.

Man is that ever the truth!
My biggest problem is that "they" are always coming up to me and asking questions/criticizing about many of my incurable quirks. The biggest ones being "Why do you never talk?" or "Why do you walk around like that?"
Plus "they" are always thinking we're being mean or bad if we have a meltdown or a panic attack in a very umcomfortable situation for us. It scares them when we don't laugh at their jokes or when we dont smile. I usually dont smile unless I am laughing or thinking of something funny cuz I cant will my mind to do this on a natural basis.

I agree. So many times people have tried to make me into what they wanted, or been embarrassed by me for some reason. Someone tried to shake my hand once, and I cringed and flinched back. I just couldn't shake his hand and I have no idea why, but the person I was with got really pissed off at me and was disgusted by what appeared to be, "bad manners".
