If your hands shake, do they always shake? Or is it only at certain times? How bad is the shaking? Do you even notice it?

Hah, my hand shaking is constant, although it gets worse when I'm pressured or inflamed.

I have tremors in my hands so they're always shaking. Sometimes it is barely noticeable, but when I'm eating you can tell (eating with a spoon/fork).

I can't stop touching things, however. I'm always tapping, holding onto a pen, tapping self-palm (imagine morse code :D ), or tugging on my clothes.

I used to shake my hands as a child. My mother would get embarrassed and tell me to stop it.

I have a slight tremor in my hands. It's hardly noticeable. But if I get nervous about something... it's tremors to the nth power! :)

My hands shake all the time... pretty bad. It causes me problems at work all the time. People all laugh and ask if I have Parkinson's or if I am recovering from a hangover. Neither is true...

They used to shake a lot but i'm starting to control it. It gets worse if i'm nervous or happy or cold. I've seen it on other aspies as well.

My hands actually do shake quite a bit. For example, I can't hold a camera as steady as most people, so I can't get those ultra-crisp photographs (for a small 9x10-inch print, it's hardly noticeable, at least). If I am not mistaken, this is a symptom of parkinsonism. This may have something to do with the dopamine metabolic pathways in the brain.

My hands shake really bad when I'm emotional. They're shaking right now, in fact.

I didn't know that this was related to Aspergers. :?

Anyway...my hands shake consistantly but the amount that they shake varies. I am meant to be tested for low blood sugar soon so that could be my problem.

I'm glad someone brought this up, as I think this issue of shakiness in hands is very related to Aspergers. When I'm not using my hands, they are still, but if I try to hold something steady, my hands shake. It is a problem in myself, as I make a lot of mistakes in my lab job due to my inability to hold lab equipment steady.

I also agree that shakiness gets worse when I'm cold or nervous, and probably when I'm sleep deprived as well. I have noticed this in other Aspies as well.

Brittany: Why do you think that low blood sugar is related to hand shakiness?

Mine only shake if I haven't eaten in a while or if I'm nervous.

Same here. I always seem to be grabbing my sleeve and/or zipper w/ assorted fingers whenever my hands are unoccupied.

My hands only shake when I'm trying to make them not shake.

My brother has a congenital tremor. It runs in the guys in my family. I'm a girl though, so I don't have it.

I have to be touching things pretty constantly as well. And if I'm not, I find that I'm chewing on my fingers or something similar.

And it's much worse when I'm stressed/anxious/sleep deprived/whatever . . .
