My son loves Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. He has a wicked sense of humour and these shows have him in hysterics.

We are in New Zealand so not sure if these shows are still around in the States.

I can't watch Curb Your Enthusiasm since I don't get HBO...

My bf brought them over to me :) I feel so much like Larry David the majority of the time >.< I'm not sure if that should be a concern or not :P

I watch It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Best sitcom ever.

I also enjoy Family Guy, Mr. Bean, Mad TV, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim & Eric Awesome Show, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I wish Mr. Show was still on.

I do but not as much so, anymore; when I stop watching a lot of them to focus on doing research--and reading about history and other subjects, and then hit up a sitcom again--it just isn't the same; I can feel my brain rotting in attempting to enjoy it.

Nevertheless, I do have some favorites:

The Critic
WKRP in Cincinnati
Family Ties
The Jeffersons
Three's Company
Frasier
Perfect Strangers

there's also a few others I like, including South Park, Big Bang Theory, and a few others here and there.

but for the most part a lot have just died for me; they either take themselves way too seriously IMO( i.e. All in the Family), they aim for the lowest common denominator and I don't understand how I ever found them funny to begin with (i.e. Friends), or they just over-do it with the sexual tension/progressively cheap gags & cliches, turning it into something as painful as Friends (i.e. The Nanny, Family Matters)

Yes. I watch or have watched Friends, Seinfeld, 2 ½ men, Black adder, Mr Bean, Everybody loves Raymond, King of Queens, My name is Earl, Frasier, Cheers, Becker, Simpsons, 2 guys 1 girl & a pizza place, 3rd rock from the sun, Perfect strangers (Balki was cute!), Married with children, Family ties and Step by step (I lost interest in this one after a while, same with Murphy Brown). None of these have been obsessions, I was just enjoying the fun.

I studied and even wrote sitcoms for a while. I was at a workshop with Marks and Gran (creators of The New Statesman, and others), at which we had to pitch ideas. Someone pitched one which I alone identified as, accidentally or not, very similar to My Dead Dad, a one-season late-night sitcom of a few years earlier.

AS, or what?

Sitcoms are practically all I watch. Unfortunately, because I refuse to break my TV-watching schedule, I have seen every episode of them about ten times. I should get into some new shows...
