I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome about 2 years ago at university (I'm 25). I have never seen anyone about it like a counsellor or specialist and have never been given an IQ test. People have complimented me for being intelligent all my life and it's a big part of my persona that I'm intellectual and a bit of a geek. I really want to know my IQ, even though I know it doesn't really mean much, because I'm curious to know if I do have natural intelligence or if I've just been copying people as female aspies tend to and presenting an identity cleverness.

How did you all find out your IQs? I've done a couple of online tests but the results differ so dramatically I don't think they can be accurate. I'd really like an official one but don't know how to go about it. Any suggestions?

A psychologist will administer one. Ask one.

If they think you're of normal or above, you'll probably have to push to get one done, as they often don't bother (it has more of a bearing and benefit when you're a child at school if it shows up specific learning difficulties associated with an ASD).

To add, I appear smart and learned. I'm not that bright academically (to the surprise of...everyone on the 'net. In person, I've always been seen as slow by my peers), except for a small area of skill which makes said appearance.

what does an 'IQ' test measure exactly, except for someones ability to do little puzzles?

perhaps the few of us that dont buy into it are the truly intelligent ones
