I think it gives great insight into how trained behavior can be effective. There is no reason that we cannot apply some of these tactics to our behavior to improve our lives.

And it a funny read.

Yeah all true.

Reember this: salesman aren't there to help you. They are there to extract as much money as possible off you.

Bring someone else with you knows how to walk the walk. When I bought my truck, my dad came with me and did the negotiating and managed to get $1,000 off the sticker price.

From King of the Hill

Quote:
Hank: (To salesman) Umm, I'm looking to buy a car, and I've never really done this before so if you could tell how this works I'd appreciate it.

Salesman: (Grinning like the Grinch) It's really simple. See this (points to the sticker price) That's the price you pay.

Hank: Ahhh

You all aren't aware of the stereotype of car salesmen (especially USED car salesmen) being BS artists (or people who use a commission payment in general)????

Other tips: Also-dress poorer than you are and don't be seen driving an expensive car or whatnot to the place. Park it a few blocs away and walk to the place to make the appearance that you walked or took the bus or something. May be better for some TO take the bus or whatever publci transport to get mentally in that position (harder to lie lol as you DID take public transport there ).

Forgot some other tricks I remember. Others can mention them.

also note you can get the cheap-o version of a car with windows you 'roll up' manually with a crank & stuff like that. If you ask for that and 'go up' that might be good for you.
