choose to believe you are not centre of universe. how to get at system
I can choose to believe the world does not revolve around me. I have the power to choose to forget.
Even if there are those few who would like me to believe it does.
However that does not change the face that there is something real wrong with the state of society and where I fit.

I have been doing some soul searching.

I don't like the mental health system.
I don't like the way the government have treated me in past and still do treat me.
Some imagined, some a real genuine feeling about the state of society generally- I know I conflate issues, might blame the wrong people…but there is something real causing a feeling, there is a conflict.

However.
I think the greatest harm that I can do to ' the system' would be to become an integral part of society. A contributing part of society. i.e.: do a job.
Because it would secure my path. Prolong how long I have. And make a much more powerful statement than I ever could with my flailings. Humility is a powerful signal.

Instead of frittering await my energies, dissipating…planning to do something about the mental health system e.t.c., the real problem is out here in society.
repeat-
Actually the system I really want to get at is out here. Not the hospitals. They are just the tail end.

different angle:
I want to contribute to society, I value people approval. But then I thought the best way…would be to do something for people like myself or any of the sorts of people they put in the system (generally the nicest people around in my opinion).
But now I realise integration. Doing a job… for me to just survive - that will strike at the heart of the system. Just to exist.

I am trying hard not to lose my way here, follow the right path. What do you think?

Realizing your potential to help others, functioning within societies parameters will definitely stretch people's definition of what a good, useful, and intelligent human being is... which is what our culture needs. It is too restricted in its view of who is worthwhile, useful, and fine.

It won't be easy, though. You'll be pushing buttons, and many folks respond badly to that. Just look at what happened when black folks started drinking out of white folks water fountains...

Just to show how stupid accepted parameters can be.

I like what you have to say. I've often thought that the best way to "jolt" society out of its rut is to engage it on your own terms. There will likely be many confrontations, but confrontation paves the way toward acceptance. Just because they don't expect you to behave a certain way doesn't mean that this behavior is wrong.

Far out example: skipping! Skipping is great fun, it's easier than running, more efficient, and most people consider it socially unacceptable. However, when I see someone skipping, it makes me happy, and I wish more people would do it.

Being helpful to others like ourselves is the best we are ever going to do, and "the system" will do all it can to inhibit or even to destroy that. It wants everyone to be "systemized" so it can perpetuate itself either by conformity or by elimination. "The system" knows it is a sham, yet it is a very slick one and it knows it cannot be beaten. However, it also knows it needs people like us to keep itself rolling along ... and therein lies the slickest part of its operation: It feeds us just enough to keep us working while working us just enough to keep us hungry while promising to make things better all around. So once again: Being helpful to others like ourselves is the best we are ever going to do while "the system" steadily tries to ultimately devour us all.

Aside from all that, however, life is great and can get even better as we learn to experience and share it together!

It would be cool. A faked NT for years, showing itself now just to shock people saying "Oh my god, you get there and you are..."
