Here's the real serious answer.
I wanted to be an astronomer or an astronaut when I was a kid. Professionally I'm neither, though I play with astronomy and cosmology. Instead I'm an engineer working in air traffic control research and development. (I'm probably surrounded by Aspies in this place.) I've run a couple research projects, the last of which was on automated airspace design. Currently I'm working with two other people - an older, semi-retired guy who used to be my boss, and a young, very bright woman. We're developing techniques for getting aircraft to fly safely in close proximity.
I'm not doing exactly what I expected as a kid, but I guess I've done okay.
