Yesterday was the Day of Atonement here (when we're supposed to ask for forgiveness from others we've hurt during the year, so that G-d in turn will forgive us) and I forgot to ask you guys for forgiveness, which means if I've offended any of you (*) during the last 12 months, now God will be pissed at me all year.

I've tried to be fair and not hurt others out of my own frustrations when I've been in a bad mood, but I do know sometimes I haven't succeeded. For that, I genuinely apologize. My New Year resolution is to be more careful and refrain or apologize asap later if I've been hurtful in one of my posts.

That said, now you can take the thread wherever you like, of course...

* Exceptions:
1. You hurt me first
2. You were offended by my bluntness/directness/honesty (one of my New Year's Resolutions is not to apologize anymore for my Aspie traits, such as bluntness, saying inadvertedly that the King is Nude and forgetting to white-lie)

Now, do you fucken realize how shallow it is when ppl make exceptoins? Its like there are a lot of people who said that they are tolerant for aspie traits, but, somehow, my version of Asperger is always an exception. They say how differences don't matter, yet MY differences always do.

It really reminds me of the way Europe treats Israeli Palestinian conflict. They go on and on about the tolerance to palestinians since they are a "minority". Yet they completely forget about the tolerance towards Jews, since Jews are an "exception". Since exception is something you simply "forget" about, no wonder they forget that what Israel does is only a RESPONSE to what palestinians to to them, first. And, in the same way, if someone falls into your two exception categores you will "forget" everything you said in your post, as well.

No, you're not an exception, dear Roman. You can't be, because you're not in the main group of those I've hurt (if my memory doesn't fail me), to start with. I apologize to all people I've hurt during the past 12 months, out of which those who hurt me first and those who take offense at "Aspie candidness" won't be getting my apologies.

And I absolutely agree, I've been saying it for months now on WP: Aspies are a persecuted minority and not any syndrome/disorder/illness/whatever. We should get our own country (not as hot as the Middle East, preferably and not after half our kind ends up exterminated in concentration camps out of NT hatred, preferably).

Jews, Blacks and Gays would never leave anyone's teeth in place if they called them disordered/syndromed/whatever. Only we Aspies are such suckers we allow this to continue. It's sickening to see how many Aspies attack me for saying that WE.ARE.NOT.FAULTY

I forgot to add: if I hurt you today, you'll have to wait for 12 months before I can apologize to you, on the next Day of Atonement. So one more reason why you're not in the main group or the exceptions.

Why do you want to apologize to G-d for, anyway? That bloke doesn't seem to care much about our daily affairs.

I'm not a believer in religions, but the Day of Atonement did remind me and create a good as ever opportunity for an annual apology...

its part of a tradition its an anual apology but t doesnt mean its not sincere. alot of times people (especially us on the spectrum) dont even relize theve offended someone the apology is an apology for those type of thing that we may not realized we offended someone.
