It's a show on ABC I've never seen a show have an Autistic person (from drama shows I've watched and found interesting) What I found interesting was while the woman (a doctor) was sewing her childs favorite play toy a stuffed monkey she tales the man doesn't your child have a favorite toy the guy said he didn't know since he couldn't read his son well and he was on the autism spectrum he also mention he didn't know much about it since him/his wife split up after the diagnosis. I'm interested to see how this boy develops and such. It's a neat show IMO.

Flashforward is the one new show that I've added to my list on Hulu this season. So far, it's pretty good. The plot is interesting enough to make up for the fact that the male lead character annoys the h*ll out of me.

Apparently, the only way Hollywood writers know to write a strong male character with some vulnerability is to make him an alcoholic/addict of some sort. This is not an improvement, guys! I should think the big, strong fed who's so obviously wrapped around his five-year-old daughter's pinky finger would be showing enough pleasing vulnerability for anyone, but I guess not.

It will be interesting to see how they handle the character with AS. We haven't seen much yet. But the child can talk ;)

Autism in anything related to movies aren't going to be very entertaining because you'll find the characters insulting your intelligence all the way through.

I'm a little worried they're going to turn Dylan into some kind of mysterious savant guru who's destined to save the world by the time he's ten, myself. It'd be just their style, lately.

Thanks for reminding me about this show. I meant to watch it, but completely forgot. Currently 10 minutes into the 1st episode. Gotta love Hulu!

It's a website that contracts with the networks to allow free access (with commercials) to current and not-so-current television episodes, usually about a day or two after they originally air for current series. You can't get everything -- none of the Law and Order franchise, for instance, the bums :x -- but there's quite a lot there.

Big fan of LOST (in which 'flashforwards' have been a large plot device) - but after watching the premiere of FLASHFORWARD, I'm already disinterested by the fact that ALL the leads cast are 'pretty people' who look like models. Makes me feel I'm watching a soap opera. If that's the shallow bent of the producers, the storyline can't be very innovative. And if there's an ASD character, watch out for stereotypical exploitation, or comic-book exaggeration.

I didn't get the impression they looked like models. Which characters do you consider to be the 'leads'?

I was considering posting this in Autism in Media (whatever that forum's called), but decided not to. It will be interesting how the character turns out (BTW, I don't think he'll discover the cause of the blackout, Martian Time-slip esque).
