Maybe I am off thinking this but I do wonder if I have Aspergers.

I am a 37yr male and have serious problems staying focused and motivated to do what I enjoy. I get bored easily and quit most projects. I have did many career changes and abbandon most of them before I even finish. I have tried to go to school to be an artist, law enforcement, teacher, and now I am thinking about becoming a personal trainer.

I use to draw plenty and found I can't remember ever finishing any drawing unless it was a school project and had to be done. My school grades were average C grades I always had trouble studying my whole life. I have trouble reading just a few pages. I am an avid runner but find I also lose interest in that at times.

Ok, Who does not like to exercise or study right? But here's what got me thinking I might have Asperger's.

I have always had trouble comunicating. I talk too fast or just miss say what I really want to say. My grammer has always been awful. I am anti-socail especailly for the past ten years. I have to really work hard to keep eye contact and usually I get nervious and do odd stuff like scratch my neck. I have been told I have a learning disablity and have struggled in english and math all through school.

Maybe I am totally off thinking this. I just want to have motivation and drive and at least go to school and get a job I enjoy.

Thanks for your time.

Though it's no substitute for a formal diagnosis, you could try this test.

Since when is lack of attention associated with AS? I thought it was more of an ADHD thing?

Anyway, do the tests. If you still get a higher than the AS cut offs at 37 you *probably* have it. I'm getting an AQ of 20 at 25 years old so maybe people develop coping mechanisms subconsciously.

A psychologist I saw mentioned the 'mind in the eyes test' to me where you have to guess the mood of people based on only a shot of their eyes. Apparently they use it as something to rule out AS. So give that a go too!

This is not almost the exactly opposite of Asperger's?

My bet - ADHD Inattentive type.
