A doctor's office less organized than me?
I have an appointment to get my tubes tied tomorrow, but when I called to see what I need to do before that, because they never called me to tell me, I wound up being told that I'm not in their books. They called me over a month ago to schedule it, and I normally don't remember dates, but I did remember that one, and wrote it down several times in different spots. So I know I'm not just going crazy...
But I'm so frustrated and confused to be told less than 24 hours before surgery that I'm just nowhere in their books. It's okay, though-there was a cancellation, so I can still get in... the only problem is now I dunno what time it's gonna be until she calls back, in which case, I still need to know where I am going, and I still need to figure out whether or not my son is going to school (single mom, so if I can't get him on the bus due to having to leave too early, I guess he is just missing out on the fun of the possibility of getting the flu in school-165 kids were absent last week, so I really don't see that as a loss).
I'm going crazy sitting here waiting... been pacing, bouncing, shaking around non-stop.... the waiting is just KILLING me, and the frustration of them not knowing what is going on with it when they were the ones who called me a month ago is not helping the anxiety.
Has anyone else ever dealt with this kind of junk before? ...and if anyone has had this procedure, please feel free to share your experience, because I have absolutely no clue what to expect and everything seems pretty up in the air. I just want to be prepared if it is at all possible, but I'm not sure how prepared I can get with the uncertainty that it's even going to happen.

I never had tubal ligation before, but I have had lots and lots of fun dealing with doctor's offices. I'm a nurse in a long term care facility. I am often booking dental, specialist and other medical appointments (we have doctors that do regular rounds on site).
Believe me - the doctors office screwing up is nothing new. The thing is - doctors offices often pay really crummy wages (and with minimal/no benefits). The ones that scrimp on getting experienced, highly trained staff end up with young, inexperienced staff who make a lot of errors.
Anyways - I know that it is frustrating, but remember that the clerks at the doctors office make clerical errors. It's not you going crazy.
Take a deep breath. I know scads of people who have had tubal ligation and they are all happy with their results.

lol, thanks a TON! I'm glad to know I wasn't just going nuts. I guess from my point of view walking in, even though appointments wind up later than scheduled and all, I figured it was very orderly for the most part.
I heard back from them-I have to be there at 6:45 a.m.-there is no way to get my kiddo off to school, but as I said, 165 kids were absent in one day last week, with the number slowly climbing... I think he can spare a day away from it, as well as me, lol. I'd rather him not come home sick, so a day risk-free of that from "school cooties" doesn't bother me much.
