We are Aspergonauts. When we set our instruments for Destination Autopia, we do not consider Island Distraction. We pursue our foremost goals, are deepest desires, with extreme intensity, with a relentless perseverance. When we are looking for a table to sit at in the cafeteria, we are so focused on the task at hand that we don't even notice someone we know has said hi to us. When we love someone, we love someone. Is this wrong?

Is focusing on one thing at a time instead of falling into the mindless ease of multitasking really so bad? Once we've set out course, we do not want interruptions, distractions, obstacles, or opposition to stand against us. Largely, we do not realize they even exist. They are a hindthought at best. We can't get over one task until we've accomplished it or become bored with it.

Really, I don't know why I catch so much flack for this.

Having a single mind, one entire mind in one head that doesn't have to be shared with the group, that is an entire evolutionary step above many people.
