I just googled my WP name and there was a link available that took me streight to my personal WP page, with acess to my messages!! !! I did it two times after that but it didn't happen again. How can I stop that from happening? Also when I click "log out" of here I automaticaly get logged back in and I don't want to be, I'm a computer imbacile so can anyone help please?

I am not a computer genius either, Ottily. I tried googling your username as well. The link I followed led me to the front page of WP, but I was logged in as myself, not you, and nothing on the front page even worked at all for me. I hope this helps you feel better that strangers can't tap into your account. It works for you because it logs you in as Ottily and I think it would only do that from your ISP address.

Hahaha yeah, there is nothing of interest for anyone to see of mine at all either. I was just worried that someone from another site that doesn't know I'm AS finds out and second that they could potentialy cause trouble by pretending to be me. I want to change my WP name but there is no option to, so here's another question for you how do I do it??

Also I googled my own reall name ang a page came up entitled " A song for unsung heros" hehe

Ottily, your personal page cannot be accessed by anyone, not even the Google "spider" that crawls websites, which in turn adds them to google, googling your wp name will bring up wp only if you were signed in at the time the spider crawled the site, there is no risk to your private messages being read by the public.

When you click "Log out", you should be logged out and not logged back in automatically, try logging out again and see what happens. any more problems just post them here or in the computer forum and someone with knowledge (such as me) will try and help

I was well aware of this when I first joined. That's why I'm careful to never post my first name anywhere on WrongPlanet, and especially not my last name. "Aspie1" could any random guy in Chicago who likes trains, while my real name can be traced to me, and in the wrong hands, could be used as a tool for extortion.

Interesting. I don't really care though if somebody finds out I have AS. They might give me a little trouble for it, but that shouldn't be too difficult to deal with.

I actually would like it if people knew me more for who I am. Not to mention reading my posts.

I'm almost at the other end of the scale. My name is so common that my doctor has six of me, and I have to check carefully to make sure my age and diseases haven't suddenly shifted when picking up prescriptions.
On the other hand a very good number of people in my town (OK, much smaller than Chicago) know I like trains. I've been pictured in the local paper a few times too often. At work I even get people booking appointments to see "The train man"

I'm the same way at my house we get mail and phone calls not for us. My cedit report had 8 pages of errors. Googling parts just leds tons of web sites seeing parts doing my real name isn't much better.

That just means they know how you look we'll have to choose a different leader whose face is unknown

Use a different username for each forum registered to if bothered about people finding this forum via google searches.

On second thoughts - why worry too much about anybody recognizing me from this GIF pic? I'm not quite as pixellated in real life...
