Just wondering who else is being hit with it. I'm in Eastern Massachusetts and the view out of my window is pretty intimidating. I hope it dies down on time for me to go to a local laundromat and grocery store (very short distances from my house). When I drive I'll have a cell phone and kitty litter just in case.

If you don't know what the kitty litter's for, you haven't been through a Vermont winter. :P

The kitties' toiletry needs or for soaking up rain?

Pity the storm can't be sent here,I'd like to see what one looks like, never get extreme weather here.

What is it like? Sorry, I guess it is kind of weird to get excited about storms and people being stuck inside, but I love dangerous/violent weather. I was so happy growing up in Houston with the rainstorms, and I plan to live in New England to experience their weather...and ure. I saw a bit about your storm on the weather channel, but it is always more interesting to hear about it from a person actually there.

I picked the big city nearest me, I don't actually live in this town, but this might give you an idea of the weather I'm stuck in.

Giving traction in snow if my car gets stuck. I didn't know where to get a bag of sand and this was the next best thing.

OOOOOOH - I hate bad weather - it is one of the only things that REALLY freaks me out - but then I feel more connected to my house than I do to my physical body so that is part of it I think . . .
I hope it dies down soon . . .

The kitty litter is so you can get out of the snow - I don't know how well it works since I live in Texas and it doesn't snow much here - but you put some in front of your tire and some behind it and it is supposed to give you traction . . . I've heard that works from a lot of people who don't know each other so either it does or they are all being lied to by some person they have in common . . .

The news media makes it sound worse than it is.

I'm near New Haven CT.

It's just a snow storm and no big deal. 8)

I remember the so called 'Storm Of The Century' back in March of 1993, forecasters were predicting that the strom would stall out over Maine, and we sould see a snow accumulation of 5.5 feet.

It didn't happen, and we got about two feet of snow instead, and half of it had melted away a week later. Though at the same time, I thought that it was cool to see sonwbanks piled up to 2nd story windows, and tunnels dug through the snowbanks so people could enter their buildings.

Its the same down here in Rhode Island. I won't be going anywhere any time soon considering my car is buried under at least a foot of snow and ice.

I love dangerous weather too and love big storms but in Ct its basicly just your average snow storm I think they hiped it up a lot becuse its basicly the first one we have had this year. The rain storms we had last month were better more theating than this.

I'm in Southern NH. I am also getting hit, but not as bad as it is in Boston or New York.

I'm actually kind of glad, it gave me an excuse to call out of work and stay home to work on some freelance stuff.

Being from the less snowy Midwest, I've always wanted to see what it's like to have feet of snow on the ground instead of just maybe four inches. It must be a sight to behold as well as a pain.

In Missouri, we've gotten very little snow this winter. In fact, we don't get the amount of snow we got when my parents were growing up.

The first new england winter storm is fun if you're from a non-snowy area.

After that, it just gets tiresome.

It was definitely as bad as they thought it would be at times here.

New England as a rule really isn't that bad as far as snowfall is concerned. Buffalo, NY and Erie PA on the other hand get some serious snowfall due to their proximity to the eastern Great Lakes.

I live in wisconsin and can recall the winter of 1984-1985. We got so much snow that a drift formed on one side of our drive way and got so high at our garage that I could climb up on the far side of the drift and get onto the roof of our garage with out needing a ladder.
