I'm curious about spectrum parent's children, and how likely it is for someone who is autistic/AS to have autistic/AS children. If you have more than two children, please comment with the numbers of autistic/NT children. This poll is only for parents who are on the spectrum. I used "autistic" to mean anywhere on the spectrum - classic autism, AS, and PDD-NOS.

I am diagnosed with AS. My youngest son is diagnosed with AS, and my oldest son is not diagnosed with it---though he shows some traits.

My oldest son is diagnosed with AS. That's where I first heard about it, and it's what sparked my interest in learning as much as I could about autism. After a while, I started to realize that I was probably on the spectrum as well, at least mildly. I've never sought an official dx, though, and given the way so few professionals have a clue about AS in women, I probably wouldn't get one anyway.

Answering for my most-likely-AS mother and almost-certainly-autistic father: Two autistic, one NT.

Oldest son- Aspergers/ADHD

Daughter- Rett Syndrome While it's considered an ASD, her condition was completely random. Neither my husband nor myself carry the mutation

Youngest son- NT, with some Aspie traits. He's only four, so we shall see.

I'm Asperger and also my wife. My daughter is borderline HFA/Asperger because she don't talk. Fortunatelly she don't have litteraly/abstraction problems. My wife is pregnant, but I don't know how will be my second son. I've put "all" because at the moment 1 = all.

I am not dx'd, although i do fit on the spectrum. My son was dx'd ASD and ADD. My daughter, while she doesn't have an ASD, she does have a speech delay (dx), sensory seeking (observed) and is starting K with only wanting to chat with adults and dislikes playing with children. I am still keeping my eye on her though. I voted autistic and NT children.

All my three kids are proud owners (by their own admission) of the NT Syndrome. NT creepy. 8O
