I have add and synesthesia, and have used color to memorize pi to 418 places so far. My triggers seem to be letters numbers and music. I was just wondering, has anyone else synesthetically experienced pi?

Not pi specifically, but I have heard that synesthesia can often be associated with unusual ability. There is a theory that people with absolute pitch (the ability to identify exact frequencies of musical notes without a context) have a form of synesthesia that enables this ability. I have absolute pitch, and I know that I associate colors with musical keys, but not to the extent that many do.

Fun, tangential statistic that's one of my favorites: it's estimated that 1 in 10,000 people have absolute pitch. It's also estimated that 1 in 20 autistic people have it.

I don't have synesthesia, but it sounds pretty neat. Pi is an interesting number. It turns up all over the place in math, not just in relation to circles. I have it memorized to... 86 decimal places, maybe? Something like that.

I have several forms of synaesthesia, but I haven't attempted to memorize pi.

i have synesthesia, the main (or strongest) form being lexical gustatory synesthesia. this means I taste words, and I also think it is awesome you memorised pi to that many decimal places. Pi is great. :D

I have synesthesia and have colour schemes for all 24 key signatures and it's very accurate. When I hear pitches, it's like a string of letters go off in my head like D E F# etc. and sometimes I even see a keyboard in my head.

Daniel Tammet (a well known savant) sees shapes for every number and he can do pi up to 22,500 numbers using colours and shapes and can see different shapes for every number up to 10000.
It's amazing stuff.

unfortunatley pi would be hard for me to draw. the numbers have personalities and relationships, and when they stand together the context triggers other related things.i read daniel tammets books and hils experience of numbers is similar. this doesnt help me do math though its just facinating and beautiful.
