Would the crime rate among people with AS be higher or lower than the general population?

On the one hand, people with AS are really good at strictly following the rules.

On the other hand, people with AS might unintentionally do some kind of behaviour that could get them in trouble with the law.

What do you think?

I've heard that Aspies are more likely to be the victims of crime than to be the criminals.

Maybe another factor is our "asocial" nature. I don't know how Aspietypical I am, but if I were to obey a law that I personally thought was stupid or unjust, I'd feel I was letting myself and society down. I can get angry when others bend the rules (e.g. parking on the pavement), but only when I see the rule-bending as an invasion or an inconvenience to me or my friends. And if I bend or ignore the rules myself, I don't like it, even when I feel I'm in the right. Quite a paradox.

I would think that overall there'd be no appreciable difference between Aspie and NT law breaking. The traits would operate in opposite directions and cancel each other out.
