Another article that shows....
....... the so-called professionals don't know squat!! !
And that their much-heralded psychometric tools are extremely untrustworthy measurements of human cognition, memory, behavior, etc....

For a long time now, i've been of the belief that these "standard neuropsychological tests of memory" are inadequate in regards to any final analysis of an individual's long-term memory. I came to believe this due to my own problems (real or imagined...and the more I read, the more I think I haven't imagined them at all) with long-term memory and because ALL the "neuropsychological tests of memory" i've undergone (like the Weschler Memory Scale) suggest I don't have any. Needless to say...all the psychologists who've evaluated me placed more stock in their beloved
tests and less in my own earnest self-report. According to them....I just have a "distorted view of myself", "low self-esteem" and i've either fabricated or at most, exaggerated, the severe long term memory problems I firmly believe I have. The frustration i'm dealing with over all of this is impossible to describe!! !
Sorry about your problems & the difficulties getting the supposed 'experts' to take them seriously. Personally, I never did place much trust in psychological/ psychiatric, etc, tests & so on. Even the best tools can get misused, whether deliberately or by mistake & they are all invented & developed by humans! No amount of reasonable (subject to reason) study & analysis can come to the conclusion that anything isn't within it's sphere. If none of our current tools of reasoning are working, develop another! Why not?

I would be the last person in the world who could develop the kind of novel reasoning tools you're talking about.
I can't even seem to comprehend basic algebra or remember things i've read a thousand times. Contrary to what my IQ tests claim, I feel i'm effectively brain dead.
