Since I've discovered Aspergers, I think it has become one of my "Special Interests"... I am always reading about it, and thinking about it, Haha. I can see why It would be one of my special interests because my special interests include things like Epilepsy and Schizophrenia.

Does anyone else have "Aspergers" as a special interest?

When I learned about my Asperger, it became my special interest for the next few years. I also developed an interest in studying other mental disorders as well.

For ten years it's been except I didn't start reading about it till the year 2000 before my 15th birthday. It helped me understood myself better and I learned mine really wasn't that bad and then at 15 I figured it was mild. Now I don't read much about it anymore because it's the same information over and over. I prefer memiors about it or fictional stories or going to the forums.

I wouldn't say it's ever been my "special interest". I have looked up [and retained] a lot of information regarding ASDs in the hopes of seeing which one I have with reasonable accuracy, but it's never been for "fun", nor does it make me "happy" like the special interest does when I'm partaking in that.

I do the same thing with anything I research.

I find behavioral neurology fascinating anyway and Asperger's has become one of my special interests.

It's never been my main obsession but it is along the line of my special interests. :D

Asperger's is definitely one of my special interests. It has been an intense interest of mine on and off for a few years now. At the moment, my special interest in AS is definitely in an active phase.

Yes, although I'm researching it less than I was. I guess I'm tapering off.

I haven't been able to do much reading on the subject, though I have tried a few times and have a couple of books but didn't get anywhere with reading them so no, I guess there's no special interest there. Living with it is stressful enough to deal with and I guess I don't really care much for reading about it too.

YES! That's exactly what is happening to me.
Now I'm buying books and searching on the internet constantly.
I can't stop talking about it.
My friend threatened to punch me in the face if I didn't shut my mouth. :(
