Hans Asperger, whom wrote of Asperger's, came from near there (Austria). So did Leo Kanner (Austria), the scholar of Autism.

It's possible that the reason Asperger's and Autism were discovered by Austrians is because there are more Autistic people in Austria or because Austria is more tolerant of Autism and therefore conditions to publicise and discover it came before anywhere else.
