I was thinking about this a bit recently, and I was just wondering-

who were these moments with (if at all- some of mine aren't)

why did it occur

What was it like for you? Details? Specifics?

I was wondering because these moments in life (so it seems from what I've read/heard) is not exactly the photo-stock moments of life like weddings and births and graduations and such. Those moments for example (well just the graduation part) were actually some of the saddest moments of my life, and the happiest exist in a different and more mundane space of my life.

Can't wait to hear about other peoples, because no matter what your life is like there is by definition a happiest moment in it. Life isn't a straight line so there has to be a peak (and consequently complementing nadir as well....) to any and everyone's.

Example, I was in sixth grade and was in a maker's fair of sorts and I made my own recipe for this chocolate drink (nothing too extravagant) and everyone really liked it and it sold really well and there was this moment were I was running around really tired but talking to people telling everyone what was in the mix (not the proportions but the ingredients) and getting more stuff and preparing things, and I just was so happy because it really worked out and I was doing something of my own merit and people were responding well.
The day ended well then too.

Then, another: I was traveling and singing and I was surrounded by a group of fellow travelers and we all sat down for drinks and- it was quite fun really and the restaurant owner got into this long discussion with everyone about the area and how he made the food and .. I don't know it was just all rather lovely and quite a nice experience I was also very happy then. The atmosphere was very nice as well.

Okay, now for everyone else! :D

Well, one was at my grandparents' 50th birthday party, listening to my mom and uncle sing. Another was at a school retreat in grade 7, listening to other students sing songs.

One of my happiest moments of my life was when my boyfriend first asked me on a date.

I don't think I have a happiest moment. I think I'm at my happiest whilst involved in a dice-based roleplaying game (like D&D). But that's not really just singular moment stuff.

When I finally got the courage to tell my crush that I liked her and she responded well, agreeing to go on a date. (That relationship has since ended.)

When I learned how a computer works. (I wondered about that for years)

The first time I solved a Rubik's Cube without a cheat sheet. (I have since become a very good speed cuber)

When I got my driver's license. (I hated drivers ed)

When things got better after a very bad part of my life. (A story for another day)

The happiest moments in my life are those evenings when I'm lying in my daughter's bed next to her, and she spontaneously gives me a kiss or wraps her arms around me for a 'tuggle'.

My honeymoon with my husband is one long happy experience, too. The wedding was difficult for me - I say that I enjoyed it but would never want to do it again, but to be honest I simply enjoyed being in the presence of loved ones and becoming married, whilst there was a lot of stress surrounding the ceremony and the day as a whole. The honeymoon, however, was a very happy time - knowing that I was married and getting quality time with my husband.

The happiest moment in my life was when I walked out my high school for the last time. Another happy moment was when Donovan Bailey won his first gold medal for Canada in the 1996 Summer Olympics. My most recent of happy moments is when I bought myself a real German helmet at the military surplus store in the city that I live and painted it blue for an obvious reason.

1. Right after losing my virginity to an escort.

2. The day I moved into my own apartment.

3. When I went on my first cruise and had fun.

Strange - based on everyone else's recollections, anyway. None of my happy moments followed an event where I did or accomplished something. They were just brief moments of emotion that I recognized in the moment as, "happiness". A few when I was a child, hidden away from everyone else in my grandmother's house / greenhouse / yard when I felt safe. Then fast forward to the past few years when I experience brief moments of realizing someone simply accepted me for who I am, with all my faults, in a positive way.

I was pretty anti-social growing up, I had my moments and near the start I was alot better, when I had the family home.
ever since that was lost, I grew incredibly anti-social and not doing much to serve my wants or needs.

The happy time was when I had that family unit, and I had home.

over the years in school not much made me happy, but the moments were I could talk to some girls I liked
especially the first girl I properly liked and made her laugh and smile, that was a big thing for me.

Happy thoughts were when I could make a girl laugh and smile. And the moments I felt like I could be loved
and there is such thing as love.
