Yes this is a stupid question. The sheets and pillow cases are fine but the "mattress sheet" (that's what I'd call it anyway) Is HARD to get on the mattress!! !! Even going corner to corner like mom has told/showed me time and time again!! !! ! LOL! I was curious if anyone else had this issue or maybe sadly it's just me. :-(

I used to, but my Mum made sure I got it right. My boyfriend still facepalms occasionally at my technique (yay for sitting on the bed while trying to lift it!) but I get there in the end.

I always do it crap compared to my mum, but when I move out I won't bother at all anymore because it's pointless, and I only do it now because my mum makes me. (I'm referring to making my bed in the morning, BTW, not actually putting the sheets on in the first place)

I have trouble with the mattress sheet, too, but now I get away by just throwing the blankets over it all. As long as the cover is there, my mom can't tell if I really made it or not.

Ahhh, I used to do that with fabrics a lot during my first couple of years at University. I have huge piles of them around my room, so it's not hard to find enough fleece, faux fur, etc, to use as a decent set of blankets.

I can manage myself fairly well when it comes to bed-making. Though I make my bed before I go to sleep, because it feels better to sleep in a made bed...

Is the 'mattress sheet' not called a fitted sheet? Do you use a traditional sheet for that, because those are difficult. Mine have elastic in the seams and I just put it around the mattress and it fits (more or less).

I have trouble with the mattress sheet and sometimes it just half comes off of the mattress when I'm sleeping but I don't care because its not like i'm uncomfortable or anything

Regardless of whether anyone here fits the NLD criteria, I can attest to the fact that this is a typical NLD *complaint*. The visual-spatial/motor deficits seem to rear their ugly head even when attempting to perform certain tasks most people can do with their eyes closed. As ridiculous as it sounds, I could forsee myself getting fired from a job that required impeccable bed-making abilities.

These mysterious 'matress covers' are also known as 'duvet covers'

More to the point, I really struggle to do my own bed. This is partly down to the fact that I am only 4'10" and yet I have a full length bed, and parltly because I can't coordinate myself properly! When putting on the duvet cover, I often end up inside the darned thing unable to see!

I've always had trouble with it, unless the bed is in the middle of the room. The fitted sheet never wants to stay on the mattress. If one side of the bed is against the wall, it's impossible to get the sheets, blankets, comforters, bed spread, afghans, or whatever else, in between the wall and the bed. The flat sheet doesn't want to stay under the mattress. The bed spread or comforter doesn't want to stay smooth. When I was a kid, it took me forever to learn how to put a pillow into a pillowcase. I can remember throwing fits to this day just having to do that. I thought the whole process was invented to drive me crazy.
I am happy to say, I am slightly better at it now, but don't go out of my way to make it neat.

I find fitted sheets annoying, but I think some NTs are probably challenged here, too.
What I really hate, though, is folding fitted sheets. There really seems to be no practical way to do this - it always ends up looking a mess and I hate it.

Generally speaking, the only time I make a bed is when I change the bedding. I never bothered with making the bed first thing in the morning becasue, well, what's the point? I'm just going to mess it up again later.

No, it's rather easy for me.

Yea fitting the mattress sheet is a pain in the *ss. I hate how it isn't always clear which ends go on front/back and which go on the sides. I can't easily eyeball-estimate the relative lengths of the sides when the thing is all bunched up from the elastic. I'm always worried when I start to put it on it won't fit because it's rotated 90 degrees. This is especially hard when the mattress is almost square shaped. The fact that mattress sheets don't fold nicely bothers me as well.
