Tonight at dinner I criticized the food and other issues with the meal and my sister hates me being negative so I was curious if other Aspies did this? :-) With that issue and other things I said tonight the whole "why do I open MY DAMN MOUTH issue came into play." :-( You kind of feel why do you bother because everything you say IS WRONG! :-(

I don't see why it would have anything to do with Aspergers either way, but no, I stopped being a negative person a long time ago. I'm positive and optimistic about things relating to others, but remain realistic (or possibly a little big negative) about things relating to myself.

if you're anything like me, it's not that you're negative, you're just being realistic, whereas everyone else just tends to be in denial for whatever reason.

For instance, my room-mate offers me the absolute poorest excuse for communication in the known universe; to be fair, most of my friends aren't much better.

I keep slamming him for it cause I'm tired of "eventually hoping he'll get it", basically implying "if you don't get it, yer not gonna", and not only did he get pissed at me and insist I was being negative, his girlfriend had the nerve to say I was treating him like sh*t all year.

It's worth noting btw that her berating me was basically the equivalent of some teeny bopper screaming at her father when he says something she doesn't like about her loser boyfriend. Yeah....

No...it's not being negative, it's just being realistic. If you get the same thing over and over again, you just let 'em have it, and know what is requested...but at the same time know what to expect.

Y'can't keep going in and acting towards them as though you're gonna get what is requested when it pretty much doesn't happen.

If they still insist yer being negative, then they're extremely in denial. I know I keep saying it, but welcome to humanity.

I am negative in a positive way.
For example, the half full half empty glass thing...
The glass is half full if you are trying to fill it, and half empty if you are trying to empty it.
In other words, it depends on the situation whether I am positive or negative. But most of the time I am generally positive.

I like this.

I tell people I generally "hope for the best, expect the worst".

And results can also vary with different people and different situations, too, naturally.

The important point is that you need more beer. :hic:

I don`t think I`m any more negative than the next person...just more likely to say out loud what others might keep to themselves. So while I may blurt out negative things I blurt out positive ones too..

I don't see how being negative could help anything, so I try to stay positive about everything.

I am a hardcore realist, I just tell it like it is. The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty. The glass is twice as large as it needs to be.
