...and what is right is not always popular."

It's sometimes nice to have a little reminder like this, even if it's something you knew already.

Feel free to share sayings that you feel are important for autistics to know and remember.

I hate it when people say (number) of (noun) Cant be wrong. There is no limit to how many of anything can be wrong.

"One could not die for you. To be sure, an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you- the rose that belongs to me. But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of you other roses: because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen; because it is for her I have killed the caterpillars; because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing. Because she is my rose."

Ok. It may not apply to all autistics, as it actually describes my relationship with one of my aspie friends.
And it could apply to all people who have friends who are autistic/aspies or who have family members who are, and who they could be to them.

I'm not going to become a die-hard Beatles Fan, just because The Beatles are the most popular group, once again. I'm going to enjoy the music that's right for me.

There is much misjudgment in the world. Now I knew you for a unicorn when I first saw you, and I know that I am your friend. Yet you take me for a clown, or a clod, or a betrayer, and so must I be if you see me so. The magic on you is only magic and will vanish as soon as you are free, but the enchantment of error that you put on me I must wear forever in your eyes. ~ Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

I had also discovered what happens when you say something powerful that makes people think. They become afraid of you, and they neutralize your message by giving you a label that is not open to interpretation -- as a fascist, a devil worshipper or an advocate of rape and violence. ~ Marilyn Manson, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

The title of this thread is so true I think, unfortunately, in most cases. I think society is in the mess it's in because people choose what's popular over what's right or actually fits them. But then society is like a shallow pond, one that still manages to suffocate you. Is that because it's easy to drown in only inches of water, or is it due to the high levels of scum that float on the top?

Thanks. That's actually from the Little Prince, there's a whole lot more of those where that came from.
