When I was young, I was obsessed with time for bed and tv shows. I would say things like "Oh no, 10 minutes till I have to sleep. 10 minutes till bed time. It's almost 10 O Clock!". I would also be obsessed with watching shows on time like "15 minutes till Jeopardy, we have to get home!"

I was like that as a child, I am still like that when it comes to the Simpsons and South Park.

I love the Simpsons and South Park. Animated comedy is some of the best comedy. My favorite Simpsons episodes were from 1991-2000.

I agree 100%.

BTW what's your favorite South Park episode? Mine's Butt Out. They made Rob Reiner look like such a douche

I was so much obsessed with time that to remove my own obsession I've removed all clocks from my environment.

I thought the latter one was kind of normal.

As for the former, I used to check my watch constantly, and I could not fathom the reason behind it. I still don't understand why I would do it.

yep i'm like this too... always been fascinated by the concept of time. i had a fear of bein late for anything. if i was late for school i wouldn't go and that was final. i also disliked doin anything wrong and gettin told off esp infront of other people and went through a phase of reflexively askin the time as so to displace myself from the whole tellin off, even though i cleary knew how to read the clock myself by then. i didn't even need to know the time for anythin when i asked, it jus became a mechanism for changin the atmosphere like a switch. i also like timepieces (i have a backwards clock) and find calendars from other cultures rather interesting too.

I get like that, when it comes to my afternoon tea. Once it's 1:50, I'm in the kitchen where ever I am, boiling water for my tea.

In my country, digital clocks use the 24-hour system, so 1:00 pm becomes 13:00. I am obsessed with interesting patterns in the times, such as 12:34, 11:11, 22:22, 23:32, etc. For times later than about 1 pm, I also like relating them to years in history, such as 13:47 (Great Plague in Europe), 19:55 (my Mom's birth year), 18:15 (Napoleon defeated), and so on.

I too find the palindromes in time amusing like 11:11, 12:21 etc.

I noticed that when I overdosed on Marijuana, in the hour before I vomited violently, I noticed that time seemed to travel slower. I looked at the second hand of my clock and it felt like it took 2 "normal seconds" just to move 1 second...

So that gave me the idea that if one could manage their Marijuana dose without vomiting, they could slow down time, and thus be able to complete more tasks in the same period???! !! :?:

I have a time thing... I have a clock thing as well. I like numbers and to apply them to the concept of measuring and managing a non-tangible thing that we all use and agree on... and it has always been and as far as I know always will be... it is neat to me. I also enjoy it when it is 1:23 or some interesting combination of numbers. My husband is like that as well, he will announce that it is 11:11 or what have you.

Mostly I think I like time so much because I do not fully understand it. I have no internal clock and I might think I have spent ten minutes doing a thing when in reality two hours have gone by. Then there are other times where it seems like two hours have passed but it has only been ten minutes. That sort of happening is odd to me. Time is odd to me.

I will go on these kicks where I am all about time management. I will make schedules for myself and obsess over punctuality and have to be looking at clocks obsessively. I did that a lot as a kid. It was very important for me to stay on top of things and be aware of what was happening when and so on. I would be very exact about time, such as, I need to have my shoes on in three minutes so I can leave the house in two minutes from then to get to where I need to be in eight minutes so I can be five minutes early... because you never know... something might happen and you might need those five minutes.

I'm obsessed with what time is... but that isn't what you're talking about, I don't think.

Time is the aspect of the Universe which my sense of self perceives, so it was always quite fascinating to me. I was always a bit baffled by human measurement of it though, as if it were something happening, and the language involved is even weirder.

Running out of time, time passing, plenty of time, need more time, references to how fast it goes by, like it has a speed.

It's like saying I'm running out of left, or asking "What is the speed of left?"... absurd.
