I hope its the right forum, and that it hasnt been brought up too recently. ;)

My special interest is cats. I love them dearly and I know alot about them. I read everything I get over.
At the moment me and my fiance have 3 of our own.

3 years ago, Puck stepped into my life. I had another boyfriend back then, that I was living with, and together we had a housecat called Buffy. Puck was/is my cat. She chooses my lap over any other and gets protecive over me when Im sad. :) When I cry she comes and lies close to me purring as much as she can.
Image
She is a cornish rex. She's not a racetypical. She has too small ears and so, but her fur is curly as it should be. And she is a little overweight. (did I say its my cat? ;) *fat* ) But she is a very calm cat. She takes care of the other cats like a mother. She was the first to protect the newcomber, Moira, when she arrived. Yet she is not the boss.

No the boss is Jade. I moved down to Germany 2 years ago. I brought my luggage and Puck and left. Not to be alone ofc. No I had met someone very special. (The fiance) Puck had been very annoying lately and showed clear signs that she didnt want to be the only cat. The housecat moved to my ex boyfriend, since she prefered being alone. Puck gnawed on everything.. and was meowing and meowing. I searched on the internet and the only cornish rex breeder within our radie, had one cat left. A little female called Jade. After a bit debating we decided to take her. She came and was so so small! Yet she was around 14 weeks when she came. :) She thought coming here was great! And wanted instantly to play with Puck. Puck didnt quiet agree.. She hissed and growled at her, and poor Jade didnt understand at all why. She just shrugged and left Puck alone for a while.
It took 2 days then they played. Now they are best friends.
Jade rather soon took over the bossing though. I think Puck just was too nice and gave in.

Jade is my fiances cat in fully. He always gets the supercuddle.. *sighs*

After living in Sweden again for almost a year I was interested in breeding. I was also a bit curious about the "sister"breed to cornish, devons. After some searching I found a breeder that had one female left that she wanted to breed on. We accepted and she is now our fostercat. Wich means that she is not yet ours, but we take care of her. She will have 2 litters if everything goes well, and after that she is ours for real, and we are allowed to continue breeding on her. (If she has the stamina and did ok with the other litters and such.)
Image
She didnt have a name when she came. It took us a week to figure one out. But we named her Moira. It means rebell.. or "our rebellion". Wich fits perfectly!
Jade doesnt really love her.. They play and so together, but once in a while when Moira is about to win, Jade gets grumpy and hisses and hits her with a paw. Moira think its play though. ;) But it works. Puck adores her. But then again.. Puck loves all cats.
Moira is 60% mine and 40% my fiances I think. She preferes coming to me with the cuddeling, but she can also go to him.

Oh, got a bit long. Tried to keep it short. I get carried away when it comes to cats. ;) OH and I also love taking pictures. Preferable of the cats. *cough*

So, what's YOUR special interest?

My special interest is Lazytown, and has been since October 2008. I don't care if people find it childish, I love it! The show is funny, the characters have that aspie appeal, and I love Maggi (the creator) intensely.

I am so devoted that I have a fansite and a forum dedicated to the show.

Doctor Who, it all began with daleks and then DT but it turned DT wasn't my special interest, it was the show but not too obsessive with the slash stuff on dA. I do love DT but I giving Matt Smith a chance because I was actually impressed with his personaility or was it the rock background music that got me into Matt Smith. I didn't even mind Christopher Eccleston but I still love DT but not as rabidly.

Oooh Eirun your cats are CUTE! I love the cats with the big ears and skinny little faces. I have four Turkish Angoras at home. We got our two kittens last year and I fell in love with cats all over again. This is Tootsie when she was about six months old:

Anyway, my special interest is dogs. I've always loved animals and dogs have been my obsession since I was little. I love learning about the breeds and about dog training. My parents never wanted to dog so I had to wait ages to get one. We finally got a yellow lab when I was seventeen. She's lots of fun but my mom overfeeds her and she gets spoiled terribly so I can't do any showing with her. I'm waiting to move out so I can get my Doberman. They've always been my favorite. But yeah, I like dogs. A lot.

I freak out whenever I see a Rolls. I once saw one outside a regular council house! I LOVE expensive cars!

Okay, I went to a school where there were a LOAD of rich kids. Some parents used to drop their kids off in Jaguars and Lamborghinis, so I got pretty used to them ;)

leschevalsroses: Aaw, what a darling! She looks so sweet.
When I was younger I was more a dogperson actually. We had a dog that was my best friend. Thinking back to it now, that sort of shows off that something wasnt really "right" with me. ;) I played with him like other played with other children. We made houses out of pillows, ran through the forrest etc. I miss him alot..

I think I read somewhere that its rather usual for girls to have animals/animalrelated interest, while guys usually go for the techstuff, cars etc?

That's funny, I did the exact same thing with my pets when I was little. I used to sleep with my guinea pig in my bed at night and read him stories every day.

Huh, I've never heard that before, that's interesting. I always thought it was totally bizarre that dogs were my interest.

That explains a lot then because EVERY obsession or special intrest I have ever had was animal related. I plan to be a vet in the future and everyone is always saying vet school is oh so hard because of all the studying you have to do and that you can't go out and party like you used to because you need to study. Pretty much all I do is study animals and memorize EVERYTHING about them. I never go out and party. Vet school should be insanley dificult for me then.

My special interest is anime. The thing that makes anime so very wonderful is that it isn't a genre, but a medium that spans many genres. No matter what your taste in fiction is, there's sure to be an anime that covers it. My absolute favorite thing about it is the characters. From an aesthetic point of view, they're all drawn in such a pretty way, with their large shiny eyes and technicolor hair. But more than that, is that even though they're animated characters, they often have just as much depth as characters from live-action dramas.

I like to collect anime DVDs. As of Christmas '09, I have 48 DVDs that span 10 different series. I usually buy commercially available DVDs from Amazon.com or Hasting's, but ever since I started collecting Revolutionary Girl Utena DVDs I realized that there's a certain amount of pride that comes from collecting out-of-print DVDs. :)

Another thing I like to do is recreate my favorite anime characters and play as them in The Sims 2. It's pretty addicting. 8O
