I'm proud to be an aspie. It's given me a mind of my own, and I don't feel the need to fit into mainstream society, just for the sake of being indistinguishable from my peers. There was a time that I did fit into mainstream society, as a Beatles fan at the age of 12. That was because I liked The Beatles, and not because I wanted to fit in and be like everybody else. The way that my mind works, is that I know what's right for me, and I pursue that, instead of just going for the latest things, as far as music and video games are concerned. Clothes are a slightly different story. I've bought some pretty Moddish looking ladies clothing hot off the racks in clothing stores, the closing months of 2009. Why? Because that style matches my personality. The thing that I'm getting at, is that I'm able to think for myself, without feeling the added peer pressure to be like the young woman of today, is because being an aspie has enabled me to grow up to have a mind and a personality of my own.
