How many times did people label or catagorized you as a Nerd?

None, but I like to refer to myself as being an "anime nerd", because I feel that the term "otaku" is a bit unsavory if you're familiar with its implications in Japanese society.

I do not remember being called that much at all. People that were classified as nerds all hung out together, and I did not have friends so that excludes me from that group.

Just my neighborhood bully which didn't make any sense because he was always saying I was stupid. Bullies always contradict themselves.

Proud Electronics NERD Here <-----

I just finished prototyping my 12 volt to 9 volt
regulator circuit on the plugboard today,
and I'm gonna visit Radio Shack (bah) Saturday
to pick up the breadboard to solder and wire the
parts up.

What is this project for?

I have a slightly used 12 volt lead acid battery
with not quite enough punch in it to power my
higher powered stuff, but just enough to use as
a 9 volt battery eliminatyor on clock radio and
weather radio when the power fails and so I don't
have to keep buying and replacing 9 volt batteries
all the dang time, I can just hookup a 9 volt bus
to the regulator and bam, instant backup.

On the streets...

"Hey, the nerd is here again!"

I hate it. :(

So what I am obsessed with the history of pop music and sports stats? I am just doing what I love!

Ten years ago, when I wasn't as heathy as I am, today, a Chinese man in Superstore, a grocery store called me a nerd, because I looked like Austin Powers with the glasses that I wore back than. Glasses mean nothing. I got the last laugh, because it turned out that I never needed glasses in the first place. I wore my choice of glasses that they sold me, for a quick buck, because I like(d) the 60s.

I also love being a Nerd to ANNOY the Normals.

The not nice Normals that is.

I also do it to bullstool around with
the few Normals that I am friends with,
we both get a good laugh.

They say "Tigger, you are the only one I know
who could come up with something like that."

I just laff and so do they.

hehe

Chinese? Oh well, the Chinese in my opinion are money grabbers, they only want 'normal' people that help them earn even more money. And you look cool like those who are in the sixties.

And I am of Chinese descent too, sad to say. :o

I've been called a nerd all my life. :) But I really am a nerd. It's not an insult. People have not said it to me in a hostile way but rather in an affectionate way. And I've self-described as a nerd too.

I hope that I can learn to take the positive side of being a 'nerd' like you.

Thank you!

I never understood why people thought this term necessary . . . I mean, do they have to come up with a name for everything that makes them feel inferior? Ok, so we like information and dont need drugs to get high because information is our high (at least for most of us). We have a brain, and we dont see the point of not using it to its full potential. NERDS UNITE!! !

Maybe the bully meant you were street stupid/book smart? (just a guess)

I am and have always been, on the inside anyway. It's funny that the two main people I correspond with from facebook are people considered 'nerds' but they are the best people I know. I know only a nerd would say 'correspond'. :)

I had the shocking revelation the other day that EVERYONE in my high school class is now officially a nerd. It really jarred me to think that all those arbitrary standards and classifications has suddenly fallen away, i.e. we are now all over the age of 40, which means automatic nerd-dome.
