I was looking at the avatars and the photos in the Post Yourself thread. I noticed the guys look pretty clean and young, and the women look pretty young too (God, some are in their 40s and they look 22, how lucky.) Anyhoo... I always looked older, with the craggy face and the beard and what not. Of all the things to set me apart from other aspies, this seems the most evident. I've too much in common to not have aspergers or some other spectrum disorder, so I'm pretty adamant I'm one of you, but I don't appear like one.

Anyone else have this experience?

I doubt it's anything to do with Autism, I look older than I am. But then again, that's because I'm 6 foot tall.

My face though, still looks quite young...

People have often guessed I was far older than I am. One of my coworkers told me her first impression of me was that I appeared as if I was a middle aged mother (I was 23 at that time). I have also be addressed several times as the mother of my elder sibling! I must be missing something, because I don't think I look that old. I have little to no wrinkles and no gray hairs (ok, technically I have ONE that sticks straight up on the top of my head, but I hardly think that counts).

When I was 12, many people thought I was 14.
Now I'm 13, and people think I'm 15 or 16. :(
My sister is 15, and some people guess that I am her big sister, although it's contrary.

Wow, so it is not just me..
I'm 13 turning 14 and I People mistake me for being at least 17; I normally get told 18, 19 maybe 20. :P
it weird how I get take all the time, people are always exxpecting different. Like I can go to movies and they don't even think anything, Some doctors try and make me sign my medical bill thinking i'm over 18. It's weird.

well, back when I was 13-15 people thought I was 18 because of how tall I am, nowadays people think I am like 16-17 when I am 21. It is quite a paradox.

Also has the affect. back in highschool, had the women older than me hitting on me, nowadays, its girls that are still in highschool (well Jr/Sr year) and that scares me... I think I need to move to japan or something.

I look a bit older.

I have always liked stress, as under stress was when I always got more productive, and made my main achievements. So, my life style was built in a way that forces stress to happen.

No, I have the opposite. I'm 51, and some people have expressed shock to learn that I'm not in my mid-30s. I still have all my hair, and it's not too grey, and I have no wrinkles.

It freaks me out to see men who are sometimes even younger than me, who look ten years older than I am.
