Do you have obsessive tendencies? Such as lining things up?
I thought of this when I became frustrated by how disorganized this house looked and I cleaned some stuff up around the television and I categorized books by size and put them on a pile. This is why I am very good at Tetris. Or maybe it is the other way around. But I digress (I seem to do this a lot).
The point is rather clear; do you have obsessive tendencies? I mean things that you have to do in order to feel comfortable. This may include self-stimulating, but I'm not sure. Maybe this is to be later decided.

Yeah, I like to line things up and right now I'm obsessed with WP for some reason, it's so annoying...

I have stims and I have to get rid of things on a regular basis. I have to go through all my files and recycle all the pieces of paper I can and eliminate clothes I am not wearing and things I don't need. If I don't I feel like the possessions and stuff are 'gaining on me'. It's a weird, creepy feeling I get, like I am going to be covered up in stuff if I don't keep getting rid of it. Actually, it kind of feels like a constant battle in a very long war, the 'stuff' is anthropomorphic and has devious intentions of overwhelming me. It's because it's inanimate that it feels like a weird thing. I know the description sounds like normal people stuff but it isn't. I had to move some rubber tubs out onto my porch a couple days ago because they are full of school textbooks that are kind of in the void...I can't justify throwing them away because I spent so much money on them but I have no use for them. I eventually will get them out of my life somehow. I bet I have less than a thousand dollars worth of possessions, not counting my car which might sell for a thousand as well.

I wish I had that problem! It's funny how I'm organized at work but tend to let things pile up at home.

I recently categorized all my books by size too. I also put them in a pile...I think it's interesting because I think most people would categorize by author or title. I think because we're so visual we would opt to categorize by size because we can easily see how it makes sense. I love tetris too, although I haven't played in months because it got boring. Once you get to level 10 on my phone, you can't go any further. Something else we might have in common is when you cleaned the stuff by the television, you might have had to organize the wires. I hate when there are wires tangled up by the tv. I have to detangle them and hide them behind something, so I can't see them. Do you do this as well?

I have both OCD and AS, so yes, I would say that I have obsessive tendencies. I think my obsessiveness is more severe than a lot of Aspies, because the level of intensity of my special interests seems to be more severe. It's weird with me, because my social deficits aren't very severe. (I can appear "normal" until you really get to know me.) But my sensory issues and ritualistic behaviors seem to be more severe than a lot of people on here. But anyway, I live for categorizing and lining up objects. I live for color-coded and numerical charts. I live for order and routine.

I do have some obsessive tendencies. I'm not going to say what they are, though.

My Tetris goes up to 15, I was pretty happy when I beat all levels. I did organize the wires and I do find this irritating. Oddly enough though, my own room is a horrible mess. I think this is because it is always a mess and I like keeping it that way.

I don't know if it is but with my DVD collection I put them togeter in order of seasons e.g. I have four seasons of King Of The Hill, so I have them next to each other in order of season. I do it with the other tv shows I have.

I have OCD and PDD-NOS. I feel like my obsessions are pretty severe, but not more so that the people on this website. How would you specifically describe your need for routine and order? I just want to compare myself to you. How many hours do you spend on your obsessions?

Apparently so, my psychologist was testing me this week and noticed how I fixated on things asked me a few questions and diagnosed me with OCD. Because of my apparent inability to keep my environment consistently clean and orderly I hadn't considered this9 though this wasnt the case when I lived alone). The reason for this is I am a paralyzed perfectionist all my books, videos, food, kids toys, tools, ect. are highly categorized.
