For those of you who do or do not know, I've been having an argument for the past few days with some guy who believes "Aspergers Syndrome = Idiot" after being convinced by a video he saw... Now, I have given up in frustration after various attempts trying and failing to post a comment (I've written it out, but can't post it due to poor connection...) and constant comments made by him through my profile and messages sent. Really, I have posted this to see people's opinions and thoughts on such a topic:

Here is the video.

(I post it in a link purely so you may see some of the comments made by this misguided person and share your thoughts)

Please, discuss.

Well, not only I can shave myself - if anything, this is the opposite for me - I can't see myself letting my parents shave me. I'd probably just instinctly move their arm away...

Etular, don't waste your time trying to educate a cretin like that. Petty little vermin with that kind of hate in their hearts are not interested in facts or truth or even in fundamental realities of everyday life. They secretly despise themselves and consider themselves unworthy of love or respect, so they try to lift themselves from their self-loathing by projecting that bile onto others, bullying, insulting and spitting on anyone they can identify as unlikely to fight back. Its the eternal bully archetype and you can't fix them or help them change because they refuse to see that the problem is within themselves to begin with. They won't admit they're damaged, so they won't accept help.

His vocabulary and language usage makes it clear that he's on the low end of average on the IQ scale, and he's got nothing better to do than waste his life making ugly comments online about people less fortunate. He thinks a person who's unable to shave himself is unworthy of life, yet Steven Hawking can't shave himself either and where exactly do you think that poster rates up against Hawking on the "valuable enough to warrant being kept alive" scale?

The guy is an idiot and he demonstrates it every time he makes an utterance. The saddest thing is, somewhere there's a female dumb enough to help him procreate and spawn more ignorant troglodytes. He calls for euthanizing those less physically capable than himself - I'd vote for enforced sterilization of bigots any day of the week.

I agree. I've always hated people watching me, people touching my stuff, and people invading my personal space.

I did things on my own just fine, because I've learned them on my own due to curiosity. I also knew that if I were capable of doing things well independently, I would not have to depend on other people to do so, leaving me with less fear and anxiety over other people's unpredictability.

I've always thought that my independence was an unusual behaviour for someone with Asperger's, but after my psychiatrist explained that I am like that because I am afraid of people invading my personal space, I've realized how it ties in.

He has AS, and he's a good depiction of it (well duh, he has it). You need to watch the full documentary to get the full picture though (see: he's good in some ways, bad in others).

I think he's living by himself and he has a girlfriend, so he isn't all that bad.
