Nightmare #1:
All company ceases to be. You will walk the earth alone for the rest of your life, and so will everybody else. Occasionally you may bump into someone with whom you may mate, but there will be no talking and no bonding of any kind.

Nightmare #2:
All privacy ceases to be. You will never have a moment of solitude again, and neither will anyone else. Wherever you go, there will be at least seven other people directly around you, including bedroom and bathroom. You have no say as to who these seven people are, most of them will almost constantly direct their attention at you and each other and they will get aggressive when ignored.

Which of these two nightmares would you find worse?

Oh, nightmare #2 is worse, no doubt about it. Nightmare 1 would be difficult, but I would adapt easily.

i would prefer number 1 over number 2.
presumably in an AS forum your going to get this.
but i suspect in a non AS forum your going to get a similar response.

I'm basically just about living nightmare #1 so nightmare #2 would be worst because having no privacy would drive me krazy.

Both nightmares are forms of Hell. You might enjoy either one for a while, but sooner or later the novelty wears off. Hell is repetition. Hell is monotony. Hell is isolation.

#2, and it only takes one other person.

Let's assume you have to choose one. So which one? If Hell is isolation, would it be #1?
Unless the lack of privacy would be lonely as well. When others lack respect, that becomes a form of isolation too. The "aggressive when ignored" is the keynote for me. It would proably bait me to act aggressively defensive, and then I would do something I regret.

Hey, that sounds like life with my kids!

Nightmare #2 would definitely be worse. Nightmare #1 might not be that bad, since it wouldn't be total isolation-- there still would be other people around. I like being able to see and hear people, while not having to directly interact with them.

But... since people will mate in nightmare #1, what becomes of the children? Babies waste away unless they are bonded with and cared for. So would the mothers have someone to bond with?

I filled in the blanks on that one to mean that babies would emerge fully formed and ready to hunt, like lizards. But it's an intresting take.
