Eli Wallace from stargate universe is he a aspie ?

well i just started watching star gate universe, started with episode six and have watch it through episode 10. and i notice Eli Wallace tends to show a lot of aspie traits, so i figure i make a thread to discuss it and see the opinions of other people who watch the show. keep in mind i don't know much about this show or any of the franchise i only seen a few episodes of other shows in the franchise and the first movie that started it all.

he has alot of anti social behaviors many of which seem to be cliche to aspergers.

also i like to point out many people might say hes not because he tends to be pretty social. not all aspies are anti social even thou they have anti social tendency, for me i tend to be a hermit but i do enjoy socializing with people i know and im pretty conformable socializing with people i don't know and can be quite the social butterfly.

He's not. He's quite open, emotional, you never see him hiding in shadows or anything. He's akward in dealing with the crew, but that is largely due to his age and maturity level.

In "Time" he tried to start a conversation about movies. This didn't work, and was generally perceived as a lame and annoying thing to do. Eli was trying to improve moral, but maybe not at quite the right moment. It's doubtful that he's used to dealing with soldiers marooned on a distant planet. Also, in (I think) the episode "Life" when he imagines kissing the girl, but in reality she says he's a good friend... there are plenty of NTs in that situation.

As for an aspie on Stargate, McKay is a far better candidate, but still not quite right. Many of his comments come across as self-serving and unfeeling, but we've seen that he can be quite emotive on occasion. There probably would have been more of that 'nice' McKay, but I think the writes kept nerfing his character development - most obvious at the end of "The Lost Tribe" where he is about to change, but abruptly stops.

not all aspies are unemotional or unopen. ive met some aspiers who are extremely emotional, as for me i tend to be the cold logical type but im very conformable with socializing and tend to be very open as a person. i think people tend to forget autism isnt some cookie cutter diagnoses like asthma were one can say every one has this with in a certain range of affect.

as i said he has a lot of aspie like behaviors, doesn't mean he is, just means he as a character could have a mild form of it. or could just be a anti social smart guy. but people that smart are much more likely to be on the autistic spectrum in one way or a nother compared to people of average intelligence. not only you got a very smart person, but you got a very smart person with many anti social tendencys which imo makes for a strong possibility of being on the autism spectrum.

Personally, I think The Terminator has Aspergers.

Why all the threads about "Does/did so-and-so have Aspergers?"

for one many people including my self enjoy the what if type of game, 2 many people in history as well as now could of had or have a undiagnosed autism. or in this case a fictional character. also i think there's a deeper subconscious drive of wanting to be able to connect to famous people in history through common ground that drive people to look for evidence of the possibility of said person being autistic.
