I know that there are MANY autistics out there who hat/dispise and are offended by this ribbon and I can kind of see why why. However I am not and I actual LOVE theribbon.

I don't seem to see it the way most do and maybe that is why.

What the ribbon represents to me


I love the ribon because it truely is unque an beutyful. To me each piece symbolizes how unque each person with autism is and that none of as are exactly the same. when you step back and look you see the true beuaty of the autism spectrum. Again I see things diffrent then most anybody. I don't look at it as "part of my brain are missing," or "I am a puzzle," Though I have to be honest being told I am puzzling is a complament to mee it means I make people use THIER brains

To me this is a beuatyfull ribbon and I like the fact it is unique to all the other ribbons out there and ISN'T shared with other awareness things.

I also have a midle puzzle fixation

I also find it vissualy stimulating

I don't wish to offend anyone I just wanted to share my view and am open to hearing others.

Does anyone else like this ribbon too?

I don't like it. I mean, sure you can make your own connotations, which don't have to be bad; and it can be aesthetically pleasing to some people; but the popular concept of the reason for the puzzle pieces is either that autism is a puzzle, autistic people are puzzles, or that autistic people have pieces missing. I don't like any of those options. If the ribbon is beautiful, then it is like a beautiful song with hateful words.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and I loved doing puzzles. I love puzzles so I like it.
I do like the colour scheme too.

I have heard it referred as 'the missing piece of the puzzle,' which makes me think of 'the cure' as the missing piece. But I don't like to think too much about it.

I prefer the infinity sign over the puzzle ribbon. I am not a puzzle, I'm a person.

I like the ribbon; I have one on my car.

If a person takes the time and makes the effort to figure a puzzle out, it's a rewarding experience. So it is with me. I am puzzling, but I am told by those who have taken the time to get to know me that they are glad they did so.

I also like the words "autism awareness" on it. Awareness leads to understanding, which leads to acceptance.

Finally, sometimes people see it and mention that a friend or loved one is on the spectrum, and we'll get into a really good and positive discussion about ways to cope.

At least for me, nothing but good things have come of it.

I like it because it's bright and colourful and for me looks positive and happy. Also the different coloured puzzle pieces show how complex autism is and all the different kinds and severities and how all those little traits and details make up the spectrum. Autism is a puzzle in my opinion, not in a bad way like I don't think there's a piece missing (i.e. "cure") I mean it's a puzzle because there's so much people don't know about it and there are things we could still learn.

I don't care either way. It wouldn't matter what was on the ribbon, people would always find their own ways to interpret it and being positive or negative, it's just an opinion. To me, the ribbon doesn't have to mean anything...pink is for breast cancer and white is for men against violence torwards women, just like the puzzle is for autism awareness. It's just something to identify the cause.
Why does everything have to be good or bad, right or wrong? Why can't we just look at something and say..."It is what it is". I will never know...

I love it...I use it is my display picture for a lot of things.

I like the puzzle design on it
