I've taken a few of them over the past few months and this result (from Aspie quiz, taken a week or so ago) is pretty typical:

Your Aspie score: 175 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 29 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

Now, I already suspected it, or I wouldn't be taking the quizzes, but how accurate are these?

i don't know. i took it, was "very likely an aspie," went to the doctor, and was dx'ed with aspergers. mostly i wanted to know what was up with me. another thing to see is your eq, or emotional quotient. that, i feel, is pretty accurate.

one thing these aspie tests don't take into account for is the amount of training/compensating you do as an adult. so, naturally, it's best to talk to a professional.... then again, i speak for myself. :-P

With that particular test, they do actually mention that it is 'just a guide' and not a diagnostic tool. I suppose the problem with it is that you could decide you want to be 'normal' or autistic so you could deliberatly choose the 'right' answers. This is where a psychologist would come in. They would be able to analyze your answers and judge how truthful you have been. I recently did a test similar to this but relating to personality disorders with a psychologist which had really weird questions mixed in to make sure you were paying attention and not just ticking random boxes! I wouldn't say that the online tests are useless though as I scored highly on the Aspie quiz and got a diagnosis a few months later (the professor took the quiz results into account).

Also beware of some tests online which are more personality based because some symptoms of AS can overlap with more serious disorders and the questions on those tests don't take this into account.
