I have read a lot of good quality books on Aspergers.

Yours is new to me. What do you think so far?

I saw this book recommended on another thread, and I thought of buying it myself. I thought the introduction sounded very promising, but I was a bit turned off by the first chapter, which you can read on Amazon. It says that all Aspies (in fact is says all people) feel inferior. I have my issues with AS and anxiety, but I have never felt inferior. I feel angry and frustrated, mostly.

But I'd be interested in knowing what you thought of the rest of the book.

I'm planning on splurging on a few Asperger's books, myself. I'm going to read them, and than lend them to my friends, and my family.

Please give us a brief review of the book when you've finished it. I really want to read this book, but my bank account is more than tight (er, I have less than $100 to my name...) so I'm putting it off. I want to know if it's actually good first.

My doctor recommended Temple Grandin's "The Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships," and I did buy that on sale... my mom split it with me. She thinks it will help me out at work.

Most libraries in the U.S. offer state-book-loans. As in, you request a book and another library mails it to your library so that you can read it. When you're done it gets mailed back.

I don't understand why people don't use libraries more often.

Barnes and Noble is currently having a buy-two-get-one-free sale on a few autism books:

Obviously, after that you have to find that one-free book, though.

...Okay , I see that I , indeed , triple-posted :x .
The reason is that , when I was posting it , it wasn't taking hold/going up AT ALL , and , then , my 15 min. library comuter time ran out , with the post still not all done... :( Luckily :) , it did go up - albeit three times - when I came back and saw :) .
I'm nots sure about reporting .
I guess he had already graduated from college , even more , by the time he was DX'd , that makes him not " a failure " like me , I was going to give my reason for not ordering another book that that book's author was too successfull...
Anything else aside , as far as going back to college , my records are all f****d up/confused , as past experiences have shown  , a\nd NOBODY :( wants to help , re: that , just repeat inanities about " Oh , sure you can do it ! Just call..." :( rather than actually help me , which would take a little effort on another person's part :( .

I LOVE the library. soft lighting, general quiet, free WIFI, and a statewide book loan program, not only can i request books from other libraries, i can use my home library card at other libraries in the state.
