I do that sometimes and I'm wondering if that is an Asperger's trait or I'm just weird. One example would be when a friend asked how my day was and I said "Okay I guess. I was a bit depressed earlier because of my awful math grade but I got cheered up after a conversation with a friend, Julius Caesar and my cat." I actually meant to say "after having a conversation with my friend, reading Julius Caesar and then playing with my cat." I immediately realized what I said, but I don't always, and corrected what I had said. Does anyone else do this?

I catch myself doing it online. I see my posts and sometimes I see I left out a word or typed something wrong and I go back and correct it if I catch it in time. I have no idea how I do this and how it happens. You would think you can't miss words or type something when you meant to type X but instead you typed Y and you can see what you are typing so how can that be possible? Maybe someone else can elaborate on this if they know anything about it.

I also do this in real life at times and it gets pointed out to me. I just accept maybe I did say Y when I thought I said X than arguing about it. I just say what I meant to say and be done with it, no argue.

I do it with writing and speaking too. It's common in AS, but also ADHD and dyslexia too.
My sister tends to do it when she's stoned. I say to her 'wow, I'm like that when I'm sober.'

I unintentionally leave out words sometimes. Also sometimes the sentence gets jumbled between my brain and my mouth and the words come out in the wrong order. Neither case is normal for me but they happen often enough to be noticeable (at least to me).

In your example though, I don't think the words you left out were really needed anyway, it makes sense as it is. Although I guess depending on the way you said it it might sound like you were saying you had a conversation with Julius Caesar who is your friend.

I do this some, maybe it's my ADHD. And I skip letters when writing words. I don't know what that's about - it can happen with adhd, though. Yeah, I've always felt that I don't need to drink or do drugs because I experience a lot of those funky effects just being me, totally sober.

I miss a word once in a while because I'm typing so fast, to get the ideas out before they fade away. I proofread before posting, but still will sometimes not notice a missing word the first time, because when I reread it, my brain knows what words were supposed to be in that sentence, and supplies the missing one as I skim right over where it should be. Only after it's posted do I notice it missing, probably because the formatting and colors are all different, and its more like I'm seeing it for the first time.

What I really hate is misspellings. With SpellCheck, there's little excuse for those buggers getting past me, but once in a great while, one does.

I tend to write the completely wrong word for my post (not noticing until I go back to reread my post and the replies I've gotten) It's so odd how did I put X word there? That has NOTHING to do with the topic I wrote I meant to write Y word. It's so odd!! !

Only usually if I'm editing text. I carve up sentences like a butcher, and sometimes leave the bloody stumps un-sutured.

When writing, I skip letters.
When typing, I skip words.
When speaking, I skip parts of sentences.

Maybe I should start skipping entire sentences, paragraphs, topics, themes....

Yeah I do this all the time much to the amusement of my peers. It gets worse when I'm upset. The other things I'll do is that if I'm multitasking, like checking my email and talking to someone then I'll end up replacing words in a sentence with words I'm thinking or reading that don't fit into the sentence at all. I misplace parts of words or letters in words when I'm talking some times. I think it's because my mouth and my hands can't keep up with what's going on upstairs.

Yeah, I this all the time. :P

More often I just mix up words (like the one time I was writing "Happy Birthday" on a card while thinking about ice cream... I wrote "Happy Ice Cream").

Often, though more frequently while writing than speaking.

Seems like I do it to, more so in writing or typing than verbally. It's like there is no way for my mouth or fingers to keep up to my brain so there are drop-outs, especially if it's a topic I'm interested in.

Sometimes I accidentally words. And then I say " happened?" And the person I'm to says, "You left a word out."
