That or don't say much, or try to hide their ignorance, or say 'i don't know too much about it'. Depending on the NT and their social situation

Impossible to determine.
Every human, NT or not is different, there is no possiblity for generalization.
Also, I have never encountered such a situation and because of aforementioned reasons I cannot guess.

Exactly. And not only does it differ from person to person, it varies for each person depending on what the situation is, who the other people are and what the subject is (for example, is it a subject he has claimed to know a lot about but doesn't really? Or is it a subject people expect him to not know much about and would be surprised if he did?)
