Warning: I changed my avatar. The Bean is hereby retired. Sorry, folks. But I figured it would be better to use this one since I'm on several other forums with this avatar and I just want to have one "face" to go with the name.

So everyone just calm down. It's gonna be okay. Change sometimes happens. I've got some Ativan for anyone who needs it. ;)

That's the point. Do you see an old woman... or a young one?

I see something resembling an animal with its head chopped off. Or something. It's bizarre, I'll give you that. :D

As a student I was given this same face to discern, whether young or old, and it took me a moment before I saw the old woman. There is something vaguely aspiesque about it. I'll miss Bean, but think your choice is cool.

Yeah, I always see the old woman first and then make myself see the younger one.

I can't say that I have an opinion on the crucial Bean replacement issue, but I remember not for the life of me being able to see the old woman. The last time I saw the pic though, someone explained it to me.
To see the young woman, her neck is visible through the fur collar, and her head is turned and you don't see her face. you can see the back side of her jaw and her ear, and a glimpse of her eyelashes.
To see the old woman, the chin and jaw are her nose, the ear becomes an eye and what looked like the young girl's necklace is her mouth, with the exposed part of the young woman's chest becoming the old woman's chin.

I remember seeing this picture in school. I saw the young lady first.
Well, Sophist, at least you kept your name.

There are old and young women in there somewhere? To me it looks like a mountain wearing a red feather.

I've seen this before...eventually I remember how to find the young woman. It's always the old woman I see first. Maybe that's an oedipal thing...dunno...then again I guess it's not about me right now...

Thank you! I always felt like an idiot because I have never before been able to see the young woman. I followed your instructions and I found her. I never had a problem seeing the old woman though.
