I am a huge fan of rock and metal music, and I tend to hear music in my head all the time. (literally 24/7) Does anyone else?

Yes, but in my case it's mainly classical... Do you ever "invent" your own music in your head? Sometimes I'll get a piece in my head, and can't get it out... and it drives me up the wall, but I can never write it all down in time. :wall: :wall:

I don't literally hear it, but I have music in my head almost all the time. It fills the spaces between any thinking. The second I stop thinking about something, I start playing a song in my head. Always been that way too.

Oh yes. Maybe not 24/7, but quite a lot. Sometimes I hear it in dreams and wake up with a song in my head. I always think I've invented it but when I sing it out loud I realize it's a pastiche of a handful of other songs.

I made a post about this ages ago! I used to hear music in my head a lot....and it got to the point where I couldn't turn it off. But when I got on meds for panic attacks, the music went away with it...so I'm music free for now! It was fine when I wasn't doing anything, but when I tried to go to sleep or concentrate on something else it would just be SO unnerving.

I listen to a lot of 60s British Invasion bands, and when I'm not listening to my music, the music is playing in my head. I find it quite comforting. It keeps me going through the day.

I'm that way with visual images, when I'm in a very relaxed state and my eyes are closed. They morph so quickly there's no way I could catch them. Some of them look like I'm looking at a movie through the wrong end of binoculars. Crowd scenes mostly. I can reproduce a tune in my head but I don't hear it out loud. Sometimes if the same song has been running through my head all day I'll start to "hear" it like a radio turned down very very low. My son hears music in his head and has little to no interest in music.

I always have music in my head like a forever jukebox in my head.

Fortunately I can store billions more songs in my head compared to a iPod....
I guess this is a good enough explaination? :)

Hey...somebody else who listens to Kings X. I was starting to think the only other people who know that song are the ones who wrote it. Cool!

I get bits and pieces of a song in my head and it goes over and over in a loop. It takes another song, when I think of one, to get it out, or ironically to hear it in real time. But, there is music playing most of the time.

I have The Kinks in my head right now.

Usually when I hear music in my head it can be quiet to loud. Right now it's just a bit of quiet background noise in my head to chill to, but sometimes it can get much louder and it's hard to concentrate on anything but that song. I made it a habit, or rule of mine to listen to that song in my head before I listen to any other songs.

Off topic, but hey, I remember Kings X.

Do I get extra geek points for living in the UK and remembering them?

Not music, but conversations.

Not psychophrenic like, they're always my voice within my control, but it's a definite dialogue between me (person A) and me (person B). B is sometime visualized as someone I know or used to know, or is other times "faceless."

For example, as I was reading the responses, I was having a conversation in my head where I am hashing out the response that I am writing right now with a nameless someone.

At least my conversations are different and don't happen over-and-over again like a stuck jukebox. That could be annoying. ;)

Yeah. Usually it's either music or cartoons, or music from cartoons.
