Hey Everyone,

I need help from you guys (and girls) to help me come up with an activity that relates to AS. :help:

To start, I want some ideas for an activity because I am part of a youth group and I have some friends there and there are those that know me as well. Anyway, we are having a convention and this one is interesting because we get to plan our own "elective" or rotation stations, and I was thinking that I wanted to plan one that relates to me having AS.

In this activity I would like to:

Reveal that I have AS to the youth group (although some member know I have it)

I want it to be fun, engaging, appealing and most importantly memorable. This is my last convention with this youth group so I want to leave a great impression of me and this program.

You can post an Idea that doesn't have all of the criteria mentioned but I would prefer it to be memorable if I had to choose one and it has to relate to AS in some way.

ALL of your idea will be greatly appreciated and there are NO STUPID ANSWERS to this!!

Again, Thank You All for Your Idea in Advance! :D

Like the game 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey' that little kids play at parties, you could do something similar and related to AS such as 'Pin the right label describing an emotion to the right facial expression'. Except you could make it more difficult for them by destracting them in some way (such as having them spell words backwards at the same time after spinning around and being really dizzy) and let them have a sort of "Aspergers experience".

I guess this sounds more like a party game...

No great ideas here, but Brittany2907's suggestion is not at all bad. I once revealed to a group [if I could only remember the group] that I am moderately [not profoundly like my uncle]. Everybody immediately started handing me colors to identify and differentiate, and I actually think they learned a lot.

That takes you finding a whole lot of things that are the same but slightly different but the same?

 Perhaps a sensory input example? like a recording of how an NT might hear an average classroom (faded out background noise and able to focus on the speaker) and how an aspie might hear a classroom (lots of extra small sounds almost as loud as the speaker and all the rest of the classrooms and surrounds and all fading in and out of focus at random making the speaker very disjointed and hard to follow)

Play the Aspie version to them first and ask them at the end to tell you what the teacher was saying
Then play the NT version and explain the differences

you know what I really like? I used to enjoy trying to solve puzzles in those academic adventurer novels (like the Dan Brown sort, but less dumb.) Someone should create a game set in some exotic places and you get to decode and investigate things. Like a detective story. YAY!

Get them each to make a collage, without putting their name on them. Everybody has to guess who made each collage.

pass the parcel! each opened layer of the parcel is a question they have to answer (and it comes with a small present too).
