Look, I'm really confused right now because I feel like I'm part aspie but not completely. Socially I wish I could be more active but nobody seems to understand me. And I guess I am a little socially awkward, but not too bad...
Also, my interests aren't that narrow. They're crazy and out of the box, but I love trying new things. Also I do have sort of a routine, but I wouldn't mind breaking it at all to go do something with friends...that is if I had many who would be willing to go as off-the-wall as me.
I guess what makes me aspie is that I never understand why everyone tells me I'm smart and yet my only good grade is in German. I don't get why people seem to think I'm a druggie or a kindergartener when I'm just diffrent. I dunno.

you're either an introvert, or more likely, a mild Aspie. I know someone who is hard to know, only likes books, manga and anime - her friends are like that too - but ppl like her face because of her sweet, innocent smile.

You really should let a professional hear what you have written/ are thinking about and maybe do some more research. People can be hesitant to try to "diagnose" you here. I am not diagnosed yet, and I may find that I don't have AS, but I feel it is a strong possibility. Keep posting here and sharing, and maybe you will see how your experiences compare to those of other members. When I see a post by someone who seems to be reading my mind or posts things I could have written myself, I look at their profile to see if they are diagnosed with Asperger's. Of course, they may not be diagnosed but still believe they have it (like me).

I really mind it when friends or even family pester me to break my routine, or distract me from my interests.

If you are an aspie, you're a lucky one. Either way, I wish you well. :)

Are you clumsy and horrendous at team sports? Lots of aspies have major difficulty with team sports because they involve coordination, multi-tasking and social skills all in one go... sometimes that can be an obvious difference between aspies and NTs...

my interests aren't that narrow either. i am quite faddy in that my hobbies change all the time. i can be really into one thing for a few weeks or months then lose interest once i found out all that i want about it. i have asperger's but i am still confused and feel part aspie and part not.

I'm faddy too... I've always been like that... I'll play a certain game obsessively for so many weeks or months and then suddenly stop craving to play it and never touch it again... I'm the same with food... and clothes... I think girls are a little less aspie-ish than boys because my perseverations have always tended to be short and intense rather than life-long although all of them nowadays revolve around either music or computers... that said, I have been addicted to Farmville for over 6 months now and play it for several hours a day and would play it all day if I didn't have to tear myself away to do other things!

Don't be concerned with being an aspie or not. Continue posting here, or just lurk and read other people's posts. It's not so much about being an aspie as it is about being with like-minded people.
You may lack a few key traits but that shouldn't stop you from learning from and enjoying the rollercoaster that is the WP experience.

If it's something you absolutely need to know then the only thing you can do is to see several professionals. That's the only way to be sure.

Marsian, i am addicted to Pet Society. the 1st thing that i do every morning is to visit all my Pet Society friends! LOL. There's a new game called Hotel City and I am on that one too!
As with food, I eat the same thing for a couple of months then move on to something else. I have been on the Microwave Cauliflower Cheese for the past few weeks! I am the same with clothes too, my latest fad is brogue style shoes!

Hiya ASgirl :)

I changed my pic so u can see my Grey Angel and how adorable she is :) I only play FarmVille at the moment but only because I don't actually have time to play any other games because my farm takes so bleedin' long to maintain! I used to visit all of my neighbours every day but as I have 60 neighbours I have had to ration myself a little but some days I visit everyone! It's bad. Mostly I can't do my coursework for uni because I have little motivation to do anything except play Farmville!

I prefer to eat the same food every day but because I'm staying at my Mum n Dad's house at the moment my routine gets disturbed as they like to eat a more varied diet. In an ideal world I'd have one of those corner yoghurts for breakfast, with a nice brew, then for lunch and dinner I'd have pizza with either tea or beer depending on my mood :D

Add me on FB http://profile.to/samanthamartin/ :D

ahhhh, our cats could be twins! So cute!! ! how old is yours? When's her birthday?
My bella is 3 yrs old. She will turn 4 on 5 July.
i've just had braces put on not long ago, so I can only eat mushy food - no pizzas for me for now I am afraid.
i totally get what you're saying with Farmville. i am worried that i will get to the highest level of Pet Society too soon, so i have to deliberately slow down a bit. i'll so lost without it, at least for a while.
a couple of my friends are Farmville addicts too, their updates are alaways: "xxx is looking for something in FarmVille!" OR "xxx is looking for something in FarmVille!". the latest one is "xxx has collected 1089 Spring Eggs and just surpassed xxx!" :D

:) They're so alike and so cute. My Bella is going to be 11 this year but I don't know her exact birthday because we didn't have her from birth but I'm sure it's in the summer. She's starting to shed her winter coat now the weather's warming up and keeps leaving fur-balls on the carpet and making my Mum angry hehe... I love her. She's snoring at the moment!

I dunno if I could have had braces fitted, my sis had them and it looked scary.

lol my entire home page on FB consists of those updates sometimes it's annoying because it might be nice to see some other news from time to time. Once my summer break comes from uni I might allow myself to get into playing other games. I think I'm quite a sucker for animal-type games because the animals are so cute. I've got soo many animals on my farm but just keep collecting more for the sake of it! I'm addicted to collecting spring eggs too. I wanna work for Zynga dammit! :D

A little clumsy I guess. I drop things a lot, if that's what you mean. But I had this one brief stint where I was great at soccer, but that went as quick as itcame. and I'm doing kung fu and getting pretty good so...

Hmmm...?

Weird. I dunno, there's no way I would ever be good at football or Kung Fu because my coordination and multi-tasking is too dodge. But all aspies are a bit different so it's hard to tell.

The other thing that can make it kinda obvious is if you had difficulty learning to make eye-contact or if you have difficulty with non-verbal communication in general, like intonation, body-language and also understanding humour and sarcasm and stuff like that???

Yeah, I don't make eye contact much. Plus it is more awkward for me than most others in a situation where you don't know anyone and you don't know what to do or how to blend in...
