I'm going to whine now about how I don't know what I should do about people commenting on my clothes, telling me I look nice, or catcalling at me at dinner if I stupidly decide to wear a short skirt. Am I better off ignoring all comments made towards me and wear whatever the heck I want or avoiding wearing all my clothes that have been commented on? (Problem is, if I stop wearing all the clothes that have been commented on I'd pretty much either need a whole new wardrobe or end up being naked...)

Is it the catcalling or the comments in general that bother you?

Both (catcalling's only happened once so far (I think it was the skirt I was wearing but can't be certain but I know what needs to be covered was covered), but friends comment on how my clothes make me look constantly  ).

Hmm I've never really been in that kind of situation before due to many factors lol.

Do you wear the clothes because you enjoy the look or feel?

Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Just make sure to be assertive in rebuking those who sexually harass you and they will learn to leave you alone. If you just blush and turn away, it encourages them.

I say you should not bend to them. Wear what you want and I'm sure you look great.

You should wear what you like to wear, but if a skirt is getting you a lot of attention it may be pretty revealing. i am not saying you are wrong to wear it, but this is going to happen in college. And if other kids your age are noticing the shortness, I would wonder about it. If it bothers you, then stick to covered stuff. In the summer it wont be a big deal because everyone will be wearing shorts and stuff. Your friends are probably trying to flatter you because they think you look nice, Do you think you might be misreading their intentions as something bad?

I assume from your avatar pic you are female.

So if you get such comments from other females it may be a catty way to show they are jealous.

The skirt might be revealing, but the thing is I wear black stockings underneath it so its not like you can see my bare legs or underwear.

The reality is that college guys will try to hit on a chick wearing a burlap bag if he thinks he has a chance. If you get unwelcome advances, regardless of your clothing, tell him a clear "get lost buddy!"

Just be yourself. That's what I do.
