Is it normal for an autistic to over think things? If it is, why does this happen?

I overthink all the time. Believe it or not, it makes doing math harder, because our pitiful workbooks explain things in the worst ways, and I can never understand it with my way of complex thinking. Why, you ask? I don't know.

I usually have the opposite problem. I under think things. I have problems with controlling impulses. If I see something I want to purchase or if there is something I want to do I don't really put too much thought about it I just do it. It gets me into trouble quite often.
