The Social Stories Questionnaire is a skills test that is supposed to compliment the Empathy Quotient test, from Simon Baron-Cohen. The difference is the EQ test measures preferences/beliefs, and the SSQ measures ability in figuring out social situations. I took the test and am curious how everyone else scores. http://autismresearchcentre.com/tests/ssq_test.asp

I keep getting something saying the test is only available for researchers.

I found others on this site using them as self-tests, since it's for their own research/clinical personal use. It just says it can't be used for commercial use, or in making money.

Here are some SSQ figures from the paper, to save time:

AS males - mean: 9.22, standard deviation: 3.08
Non-AS males - mean: 12.02, standard deviation: 2.98
Non-AS females - mean: 13.62, standard deviation: 2.37

(There were no figures for AS females; perhaps there were not enough available for a good sample)

I got 13, so I guess I'm either doing pretty well or just had a good test.

I got 14, but I didn't see the part about not thinking too hard about the answer so I spent a lot more time puzzling them out than I should have

That's impossible. You must have been doing the PPQ, or otherwise mixing up the SSQ criteria with the PPQ somehow.

I have no ideas how to do this. I click on it and it asks me to download it and it just shows me the file with social stories. What am I doing wrong?

Can you see the yes/no boxes at the end?

Uh, so... I'm having such trouble concentrating on the stories that I can't make sense of them... what the heck does that make me? I'm certainly not dyslexic.

Shall try again when I've got more concentration, I suppose.

There are the yes and no boxes but it's just a file, it's like a paper on the computer and you need Adobe reader to view the file. Is everyone else here getting that same thing?

I scored 17 / 20 so I'm obviously quite pleased with myself.

Incidentally, I got 38 / 40 on the PPQ test.

I have the same question you do, Spokane_Girl. I see that there are questions to be answered, but it's like something that you print out and then mail to them for scoring. I'm not seeing anything that can be scored online.

What's everyone else seeing? :?: :?:

i got a 10, which is ok i guess but i didn't see anything wrong with story 4 and each part had something upsetting. i didn't catch most of the subtle ones.
