I've felt I have something else besides AS and I don't know what it is. My mom says it's all AS but I don't see other aspies having my issues. Then I read on here that some aspies do indeed need help in school and need accommodations. I am one of those aspies then. The other aspies I have seen, they have gone to college or are in college, wasn't in special ed and didn't need help with their school work. It makes me feel so low functioning.
I've been/am in both situations. I spent some time in Special Education classes, but then later on I was shoved into honors and AP classes. I ended up going to college with half of my calculus out of the way, only to drop out because of anxiety problems.
It's really confusing. Then again, the doctors initially wanted to give me the classic autism diagnosis. The only reason they couldn't is because my IQ was too high. My mind is a bit like a sponge. It sucks up information, and when you squeeze it comes gushing out in a flood of spoken information on some random topic.
