I'm just curious about the longevity of aspies that have never married and have no kids.

Well, people only really started getting diagnosed very recently, so most really old ASD people probably don't know they have it..
so don't get scared if the poll says there are no old aspies, lol.

Available options topic

The first option states under 45 and/or significant other and/or biological kids

Maybe the pollster does not realize that over 50s have children and/or significant others, or adopted/foster kids.

I chose the first option, based on the perimeters of the choice.

There are older aspies on this site. Two regulars are in their 80s. One is Dx and in his early 70s. I believe the latter has children and grandchildren.

True, most old people wouldn't have got a diagnosis, and those who did would have had to research the subject and taken the time to then get a diagnosis.

Mine is in his mid-80s and essentially identical.

Actually I'm 49... I just feel a lot older.

Can I ask, what does it matter if you have kids or are in a relationship or not anyway? :?

I worked with a patient once (I work at a rehab hospital) who was 85 and had a diagnosis of autism. He also was either clearly HFA or AS, rather than LFA. He must have been diagnosed as an adult, because when he was a kid, obviously the diagnosis didn't exist.

Can't be me. I'm way too young to be the oldest aspie. (I'm 16.)
