I'm constantly looking back on what behavior mistakes I made in College before and there was a stack of papers with report against me mainly meaning I interrupted class with talking too much. Of course I talked alot which IMO made other students think (Wow she doesn't take class seriously etc.) I come in the next day with a 3,000-4,000 word research paper done (3,000=minimum mine were usually more than that) So IMO THEN Students are shocked (OMG she got a paper done) and they are in turn confused since there first impression is someone that doesn't take class seriously. BUT as I have said before Socializing/partying/skipping class work etc.! THAT'S THE PROBLEM! (Obviously change my talking behavior when I go back this Fall but I still want to get reports done well.) LOL! :-) I also saw college class as laid back fun etc. not a stressful chore if it's a stressful chore for you QUIT! I try to have FUN with class and enjoy it!! ! Is anyone else at times like this?

That's the defining impetus behind many of my actions.

I am an aesthete at heart, if it's fun, and won't hurt you or anyone else, then there is no reason to not do it.

If I understand what you mean, then yes, I do try to have fun with life. This includes school and it used to include work, until I learned how to be serious at work. I remember in one of my classes, one of the students was very vocal about my progress in class (similar to your "OMG she got a paper done," but more like, "OMG she's finishing her assignment in class, on the same day, again"). I skip class only when I know attendance wouldn't be necessary. I also saw college class as laid back instead of a chore.

I always tried to have the most fun with my assignments and projects. I think I got this practice from my high school, which was very laid back and encouraged us to incorporate our interests and creativity in papers and projects. I've always tried + accidentally included sarcasm and satire in my papers, speeches, and projects. I try to put my personality into my projects, always.

Besides, I still need to look for a college (I'm planning on transferring) and many colleges' application deadlines are either past due or in a week.

Also: Many people take my attitude in class the wrong way. Everybody everyday takes my attitude the wrong way. I don't even purposely have an "attitude."

Sometimes I do, sometimes I dont.

Observing the antics of the straight minded is of course always a great pastime until such moments as I am on the receiving end again.

And there are definitely moments when I truly feel I can enjoy the ways my mind works because I know the people around me cant do that.

I find it funny how some of the older folks can tend to take the younger students as immature and irresponsible only to find out the next day that we have turned in very high quality work. I guess saying what you did over the weekend is not a definite sign of laziness.

In short, yes, life can be fun at times.

I try, but sometimes my wife has to bring me kicking and screaming and then once we're there I often have fun. She gets so PO'd with me.

I have fun, but not in the conventional way. I do whatever I find fun, e.g. investing in the stock market. Parties are NOT my idea of fun at all. But guess which one of those two makes more money?

But I hate people who take everything too seriously. Why take life seriously anyway? It's not like anyone ever gets out alive!

Fun is an abstract concept.
Is it the brain rewarding the body (and the brain itself, by proxy) for doing useful things?
Would eating be considered fun?
I hear pride can also be of accomplishment, exempli gratia work accomplished in time before the deadline.
Would that then, be considered fun?
As partying and drinking and socializing is deemed fun (although not by many persons on this board), perhaps fun is when people put their conscious mind on standby and let their subconscious mind shape their actions.
This also explains why alcohol is often involved, as it numbs sense at moderate amounts.
Perhaps fun is overall relaxation.
I do not necessarily relax when playing Pokemon as it is a highly strategical game at which even a moments loss of perspective can lose one a battle, yet I play it constantly.
Perhaps it is an addiction.
Although I do not see the benefits.
