If you are a good writer, you might be able to contact the author and ask to contribute to a second book

I have to buy it...for my meerkat collection. As for writing the sequl, I don't think it a match to my writing style. It's always a a war between the animals and the humans. All animals have autism if you think about it. Meerkats may be social but they are social with each other, not humans. I never got that when stupid people told me I should be more like meerkats and be more social with people. Meerkats never were. That was one of the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I want to write a series of kid's books but they will be about my bearded dragon getting into mischef and being cute.

You caught my interest, how are animals autistic? I am really curious. I have always bonded with animals better than people.
As far as the bearded dragon book, sounds like fun, I say go for it.

I have a bird, 2 dogs that would make a great story. My little dog is highly antisocial and will bite anyone who tries to engage with her except mom, me and the older dog but is really adorable with us. my older dog is a lab mix and is just a wise as a sage and very sweet. My bird is plotting world domination as we speak...if she could, she would. Sounds like a great cast right???

Animals arent autistic lol... They are the way their instincts make them plus their life experiences. If a species of animals is independent they aren't autistic, they're naturally independent.

Maybe animals can have autistic brains. Mother nature is a mad scientist and tries new traits out to see what works best. I think spiders may be autistic. They shy away from social engagements and spin webs as their special interest.

Animals don't have human brains, so it is unrealistic to simply attribute a certain social behavior to Autism in an animal.

Ditto! That's extactaly what I am trying to say. Unless a caroon animal is extremely anthromorphic like Arthur (I don't even think they can be considered furries), I hesitate to give oddball characters like Timon, Ed, and Rafiki an ASD diagnosis.
