I got information from the College and all I talked about all week is getting information now I'm worried when/what information I'll get afterwards if they'll even accept me back! I am obsessing over it but I'm worried what IF they don't accept me back!! ! :-( Plus what classes would I take!! !! As stated in plenty of other topics from me I'm still interested in Psychology while family is still against it! I got too obsessed! Today talking about College before mom said I got obsessed with people more than the school work. (but I'd turn in my papers ahead of schedule and get A's so IMO that= obsessed with school work and it was all I thought/talked about) I know all this is an Aspie thing so IT IS ME! but sometimes my parents don't like my obsessiveness. :-( Mom suggested NOT Psychology but breast cancer "research" since I like research but IMO IT'S NOT THE SAME FOR GOD SAKE SHEESH!! !! !! !! !! ! I want to ATLEAST give Psychology a 2nd chance and as others have said if it works out great if not choose another field!! ! :-( I REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE I GET ACCEPTED BACK!! !! !! ! I AM SO WORRIED!! !! !! !! !! !!

You don't have to decide on a major right away. In my university you could wait until junior year, and most places give you at least a year before you have to decide. In the meantime take some classes that appeal to you and see what they're like.

Your mom cant pick a career for you. Even if she were to force you through the school years she would not be able to make you enjoy your job or perform well at work. Putting money into college courses for that purpose is insane. Get your core curriculum done while you decide. Everyone has to take certain classes regardless of the major. If you really do love psychology why not research in that field? Why is she so against Psychology?

My parents have never liked my obsessiveness, either. But if you want to do psychology, you should. Hmm, maybe you could come up with a reason that you should do psychology. Making up stories regarding my interests usually works for me.
